C&C3 was the most overrated crap RTS. Seriously, it sucked. Check out it's online, there's maybe 20 servers. The community (including me) left that game after putting up with EA's crap attempts to balance it.
If that's the case, then Empire: Total War will be AAAAA![QUOTE="ArisShadows"]Halo Wars will be AAAA!Indestructible2
You know I was kidding right? o.O

Yes :PI figured, but better safe than sorry. :P
[QUOTE="will_work4food"]I'd rather play on a console now that consoles have better online especially the 360
Danm_999
Indeed. Paying to play on non-dedicated servers with a controller is a luxury. :P
I can afford 50 bucks

I'm sure you can.
That's not the issue though.
Paying for a sub-standard service = consoles have better online???

How does it have better online? Even though you pay for it, it's still worse.
Actually there is.

1) that's not a RTS, controlling groups of people doesn't make it a RTS
2) and it's not better, just that GC has lower standards

I have a so called 'gaming PC' and I'd rather play on games on XBL
Why do hermits act as if playing online on the PC is some kind of magical lag free experience? Are they all 8 year grad students playing on a T3 or something?
World in Conflict is supposedly out for the 360 in February according to game stores so we shall see how it handles this highly regarded game.

1) Yes it is, its listed on various places as RTS, here at Gamespot and I check out Wikipedia to see what they listed it and "Genre: Real-time strategy" was what came up. You should read up on what is a real time strategy.
2) Thats a cheap response, gamecube has lower standards. First off, if option 1 didn't go through, you can try to mock it by calling it lower standards. PIkmin was great and it deserved it score, so yes consoles can get great RTSs.

Nobody has even mentioned lag yet.
All that's been said is that paying for an online service doesn't make it better.

At least you don't have to upgrade a console

And you suffer for it. No next gen console will be able to play Crysis as it is. Imagine what PCs will have over them by the end of the generation.
Also, are you just spouting off fanboy one liners?
Well part of the problem is developers have been content trying to shoe-horn PC RTS's onto consoles rather than designing games from the ground up. I think Halo Wars and EndWar are going to be a couple of plesant suprises. PBSnipes
I hope so too. I just want a fun RTS along the lines of RA2 that controls well with a gamepad.

I don't think you should count on Halo Wars? But what is this EndWar?
[QUOTE="ArisShadows"]New Tom Clancy game similar to World in Conflict. Apparently you'll be able to control the entire game through voice commands.I don't think you should count on Halo Wars? But what is this EndWar?

Interesting.
So Halo War and End War fanboys should stop trying.Yerlop111Amen to that i love COH better than C&C but idk about World in conflict still a good game but COH takes the cake i guess
I agree, i got Company of Heroes with my graphics card and i was very impressed with the game. the graphics are amazing. best RTS iv played in along time.michael098
Same. Did you get the 8800 GT alpha dog edition from XFX? I haven't gotten around to installing it yet but I liked the demo. I just hope its not to hard to get into.

I could, you know, say something, but....
RTS is such a large market that you don't need a great PC to run most of them on medium settings. I was able to run CoH pretty smoothly on mid setting on my old rig which was AMD Athlon 2.0 GHz, Radeon X700 Pro 256MB (AGP), and 1GB of RAM. Most store bought PCs are cheaper and better than that rig and in your price range if you bought a 360.Tiefster
RTS may be a large market, but if you take a more realistic approach, you'll see that consoles almost completely took over the US market. And the US market is the most important market for Microsoft, whatever they say.
Now, FPS was a pretty large market on the PC also, and now look what happened. Almost every FPS out there is a multiplatform product, and almost every FPS title on the PC is an X360 port.
Microsoft knows what they're doing. Money is everything, and Microsoft has a LOT of it. Microsoft is aware that the platform is as strong as its lineup of games. And X360 has a pretty decent lineup. More and more studios hop onto Microsoft's bandwagon, because they know Microsoft will provide them a nice, crispy business package: a vast marketing support, one, strong platform to rule them all, and at the end, huge sales.
They did it with the FPS genre, now they'll do it with the RTS genre. They'll try to do it with all the genres, so they could monopolise the market. It's an aggressive, long business concept, but it obviously works.
Where's PC, or the "Games for Windows" in all that? I see Games for Windows as just another source of games for the Xbox 360. In other words, Games for Windows and Xbox 360 will almost definitely share every possible game.
On the other hand, what's even more possible, it's the new Xbox, which may not even be a console. I'm almost certain that Microsoft will produce its own Vista-powered gaming machine, branded as the Xbox, and even upgradeable. But the upgrade process will be so easy, that even a retard could upgrade. Upgrade parts could be standardised, and there's a source of cash for nVidia, Intel, AMD and ATi. Yes, it'll be cheap, yes, it'll be a completely closed platform, and no, it's not impossible.
I'd rather play on a console now that consoles have better online especially the 360

[quote="Yerlop111"] No RTS will ever be able to be as good as Company of Heroes aliblabla2007
Fixed.
I agree with that. CoH is the best RTS ever made.
