First off did he say "some time after may"? The fiscal year ends in March I thought (I could be wrong).

I wasn't expecting it to come out this year anyways. A Fall 2008 release in the US sounds likely.

i dont think FF13 is the only game that will justify the ps3s price. Here are some games/features that will justify for this fall : Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Warhawk, Rachet & clank, Home, *some nice psn games* ps eye, eye of judgement, firmware 2.0

and some multiplats that will widen the ps3s library check them out if you dont like what you see then i dont know what to say...

Which sane person expected ffxiii this year anyways? It's always been a mid 2008 release (earliest) I personally don't expect it in my hands until mid to late 2009 (I'm european btw).

It is certainly a huge blow to European gamers that want FF13, it might as well take until PS4 to be out there, definatly deep in 2009, which is just unacceptable, who would buy a PS3 there now ? This game was thought to be out in 2007 in US, and 2008 in Europe, now all hope is lost for them

they should do a slimline ps3 and bundle the game with it

Yessir. For the PS3, it's only the games that are region free. Not movies. But let's not forget, with the size of Blu Ray, we could see games go multitrack with voice overs. Eternal Sontata is said to do that. Games should have that feature all around. Have you heard Gears of War in japanese? It really puts more of an edge to the game. IMO ;) I wouldn't be surprized to see FFXIII share that smiliar trail. Along with many other games.
