I was reading an article that reported that FFXIII isn't being released in Japan until probably holiday season 2009, and it isn't likely to be here in the states until summer 2010 at the earliest and holiday season 2010 at the latest! I was severely troubled when I heard this, and thought to myself, why? Why does Square and a few of the other bug name publishers do this to us? It just is unimaginably aggravating. Your thoughts?Shenmue_JehutySo it's gonna take them 5 years (Xbox 360) or 4 years (PS3) to release a Final Fantasy on a next-gen console. Wow?
THANKS MS for ruining NAspike6566
Yeah, cause like White Knight Chronicles isn't totally taking forever to get a US release, right...
Excuses, excuses. Let's blame MS.

There is a difference. Japanese got WKC late December. They get FFXIII in 2009 We get WKC before March 31st apparently. We get FFXIII in 2010 It would come earlier but it went multi causing a delay. The wait is MUCH longer. If WKC comes out in 2010. then you'll have a valid argument. The game is still fairly new in JapanI read it in this months issue of Game Informer Magazine. I'll check their site to see if they have the story on this there.Shenmue_JehutyIf that were true a FF website would have posted it.
2010 release would be sad. It should be released in NA by fall of this year imo :)jasonheymanIf it is released in 2010, I will be sad.

Isnt a demo supposed to be releasing within the next month or so?? I highly doubt it'll be that long.bigboss5akLove the sig!

I totally cant wait to see FF's amazing new graphics~! what im not looking forward to is the hard to follow story-line, generic recycled characters and new yet completely boring battle system.Abicus7
Did you only play 12?
I always think its funny when people argue that storylines are what is essentially good in RPG games - somewhat complex.
I can't find it on their site all, but just read this months issue of game informer(the one with Drakes Fortune on the cover. . . or some guy hanging off a cliff side???). I understand theskepticism, but please, just go to your local book store and read it for yourself.Shenmue_JehutyI read it and you are wrong partly. Everyone already knew this game wasn't coming out till late 2010 in NA.

No, I've played and finished nearly every FF, and they have gotten worse and worse.. PLus square already said that the battle system of 13 will be like 12. Awsome Square! way to take the worst part of a game and make a sequal with that same flaw.

The battle system isn't like 12 or anyother FF for that matter.I was reading an article that reported that FFXIII isn't being released in Japan until probably holiday season 2009, and it isn't likely to be here in the states until summer 2010 at the earliest and holiday season 2010 at the latest! Unfortunately, if that's how long it takes to PORT the 360 version, then that's that. It's tragic that PS3 owners have to wait possibly a WHOLE YEAR to play it, but that's business for you.
Luckily, the PS3 is REGION FREE, so if you happen to speak Japanese, you can just import it.

Oh ok.
I believe they were good until after X. I haven't been much of a square fan after X.
Do you hate the playstation titles? Are you a final fantasy purist?
Whats bad about it? It may have not been exactly like the previous titles, but I enjoyed the Final Fantasy XII battle system the most.

Famitsu already did impressions from it from the second jump fiesta trailer shown this year.[QUOTE="Abicus7"][QUOTE="hakanakumono"]Did you only play 12?

I love square soft. But after finishing any square-enix game it just collects dust on my shelf. (crisis core, FF12, FFx-2) Nothing new comes even close to the classics like the pre-X FF's, Chrono trigger, Xenogears, FF tactics ect...
It just seemed abit weird that I finished Vayne in 12 without pressing 1 button, non-interactive battle system FTL
No surprise there, the demo comes out on march, the demo only and what kind of demo you ask? the japanese version ofcourse.
So expect FFXIII to come out 6 months after the demo which will be the month of September in JAPAN only, and we all know how long it takes for Square to localize the game, it takes 6 months at least for the US version to come out, I was thinking about this at the beginning of the year and I think it is possible we wouldn't see FFXIII for NA and EU until next year.
What is really pathetic is when I see Level 5 announcing their game after FFXIII and releasing it before Square which is supposed to be a bigger company with the bigger manpower to deliver faster.
All of the developers are releasing their big budget games this year like Resi 5, KZ2, Heavy rain and others already released their announced big budget games from E3 05 and 06 like MGS4, Gears, Devil may cry 4, Halo 3 and GTA IV.
Square and Polyphony are the worst developers this gen when it comes to their flagship titles.

I will blame MS, unlike you who seem to wosrhip ms. MS is the reason we have to wait, we have to wait for the 360 version to be done when the ps3 version will be sitting there ready to go, it won't take that long to localize it, hell it should be done during the making of the game as voice actors are different then programmers etc.. And if they get snagged with bugs wiith the 360 we have to wait, when it would already be made on ps3. We have everyright to be upset with both m$ and se they release all other multiplat games on 360 but make the ps3 wait, why not release this to the usa on ps3 and make the 360 wait? MS that's why, they drove that truckload of cash into se headquarters last summer right before e3 as they didn't have much 1st party stuff to release. Please Log In to post.
