For the past 5 years I have not seen a single advertisement during the Super Bowl about games. Why is that? Will there be any this year?nVidiaGaMerBecause it's about 3 million dollars $$ for a single 30 second spot. Theres rumors of a KZ2 commercial, but I doubt it
someone posted the killzone 2 superbowl ad...check the ps3 board...a mod locked it but you can still find the link in there. I have to say the ad is freaking awesome...i sig'd it right after i seen it. ReaperV7Never mind my other post, I just saw it. I think it would have been better if someone said those words, rather than just print on the screen
IDK, but I guess we'll find out.
But the Halo 3 trailer during the Superbowl was amazing :D Got me so pumped.
A Halo trailer played during the superbowl? If you're thinking it's this cmmercial, you're sadly mistaken for it did not play during the SuperBowl.IDK, but I guess we'll find out.

Ah well, it's a mistake, I make them.
Superbowl commercials cost 3 million a pop this year.. That's a lot of scratch. You better be damn well sure you are going to make that back.
I'm glad Sony was actually smart enough to drop the cash. I thought they weren't. I still think waiting until the Superbowl is a bad idea. They should have been dropping ads for KZ2 a long time ago.
Because it would cost millions to put a game commercial on -- millions in which most do not have to spare at the current time.Stevo_the_gamerExactly. You are better off spending a tiny portion of that bombaring with web advertising, to appeal to core gamers - if that is the demographic you are looking for
Its a decent ad. I think they could have cut the whole little intro - and saved a few seconds on some more in game footage. And made it a bit more bombastic. Never the less its nice to see Sony marketing hard.OK. I just watched the commercial. It was excellent. Short and sweet and to the point and completely relevant to the Superbowl.
Good job Sony.

I will wait. I prefer keeping the surprise until tomorrow. Its the one event where I know that the commercials won't bore me to tears.OK. I just watched the commercial. It was excellent. Short and sweet and to the point and completely relevant to the Superbowl.

Yeah, the Super Bowl is the only TV event that I actually hook the surround sound up to my cable box for. :D Well, that and the GF insists on it during American Idol finals...OK. 3 million dollars for 30 seconds of air time....not exactly cheap....SpruceCabooseSo I guess the Killzone 2 ad will only run once during the Super Bowl.
Im not believing the KZ2 ad, it's 52 seconds which means $5.2M, thats alot of money, so I'll keep it in the rumor mill, if that ad is going to be in Superbowl for real, it would be cool to see Sony be aggressive in marketing their games at last.HAZE-UnitI believe it only because it says "enjoy the game" at the end. If it's not fan made, then theres nothing else the commercial would be for. Most commercials say enjoy the game during the super bowl

Short? It is 52 seconds long, that would be around $5,200,000 if Sony aired that during the superbowl. I really don't think they would air anything on the Super Bowl. (pretty cool trailer thou)

Sony will do it. If theres ads during the Superbowl about Levis Jeans then this is not a problem for Sony.

But an ad for Levis Jeans and an ad for Killzone 2 are not the same thing. Unless Sony is going to have a marketing buget for Killzone 2 of $8M+ for just the US. They have around $3M for the UK. So for an world wide marketing buget it may get up to $10m. Now before the Super Bowl I could see it. But during the Super Bowl it would be too much money.
I love how, on the KZ2 advert, they showed the title of the game on 3 differant occasions. They're making sure to get the most out of that money lol.Indie_Hitman

WOW. You don't know what the Super bowl is? I'm not raggin' on you, but that's pretty amazing if true.
And before anyone whines about how "not everyone lives in America" I'm well are aware of that, but I'm also well aware of the fact that The Superbowl is pretty well known outside the US. Especially in the internet age. The marketing done on that day is studied globally the next day.
