No good first person shooters

Im mad because there hasnt been any good first person games that have come out in a long time, the last really good first person shooter was i think crysis can any one recommend any games that I might havent heard of. Or that you think are good it can be any system except Wii and please no halo or call of duty.

Quake 3 was the last good one I think.

well what do you look for when it comes to FPS, there are a wide variety of them, Bioshock, STALKER, Halflife series.

or you should even try http://www.quakelive.com/Quake Live, which is basically Quake Arena for free, with more balance.

What crippled Cryostasis is how badly optimized it is, runs like crap when it shouldn't.

I am inclined to agree with you; when it comes to MP shooters anyways. I really enjoyed BF2 and 2142; BC2 was okay but had nothing on the previous ones. The rest is just meh

It is a bit awkward. I ran it @ 35-50 frames with PhysX on and everything on high with a GTX280. I now have a 5870 and run it without the PhysX and it runs roughly the same :(. However I felt it ran well enough to where it did not take away from the experience, at least imo.

The physx adds alot, its the only game i know that uses real time fluid dynamics but its just so demanding when it shouldn't be. It only uses 1 core of the CPU so it bottlenecks many rigs like mine if it wasn't for that it would run fine i think.

I dont like keeping my gun pointed at corners and such waiting for someone to walk around them (CS, call of duty)... i like when opponents are flying over my head at 50mph and i need to have great aiming and speed to hit them.

More truthful than the Truth Movement. Both collections had me entertained for hundreds of hours, Half-Life 1 at least two hundred. :)

TF2 is amazing. Try that.

Bad Company 2 is the best FPS in terms of multiplayer right now in my eyes. Better gunplay, teamwork, and sound effects, than Call of Duty and Halo series (which everyone thinks is the best and are the most popular FPS series today).

TF2 is also very good, but I prefer Bad Company 2. Killzone 2 is worth trying also if you want a challenging, but satisfying game when getting kills since it's pretty much the most realistic console shooter when it comes to the gun play.

In addition to what others have mentioned, I suggest checking out Call of Juarez Bound in Blood. A great FPS that I thoroughly enjoyed. BradHummr

From the sound of it your standards are either too high or you just hate popular games. There have been plenty of good FPS games. Bioshock, Modern Warfare, Killzone 2 come to mind.

Borderlands (dont get on PS3 online is a clusterbleep) purely cause its a breath of fresh air on the genre and is tons of fun if your playing co-op but gets a tad tedious in the SP.But i do really recommend trying it purely cause its relatively standoutish and its got its own charm and loads of nods to pop culture :P

honestly i enjoyed a few great fps in the past couple of yrs.. also the future looks good :)

Halo Reach, COD:BO, KZ3, Brink, BF3, Resistance3, Crysis2, Rage, Duke Nukem Forever, MOH and probably a couple of others :)

However i would love to see a sequel to The Darkness, i really enjoyed that game :)
