No GTA IV DLC for PS3

Hey guys, i managed to find the agreement made between R* and MS. In it, it states that the PS3 will not get any DLC of any kind for at about a year, and that the 2 episodes exclusive to the 360 will remain exlusive. Hope this clears thing for everyone. What do you guys think? Discuss........

Hmm. That article revealed something I didn't know up to this point: Microsoft advanced T2 the $50m. If the DLC doesn't sell enough to recoup the $50m, T2 has to pay back the portion that was not recouped.

So Microsoft won't pay anything for the exclusive DLC.

I think it sucks that the Microsoft episodes will remain exclusive, however GTA IV is not really the type of game that I'd be dying for more single-player content for. But I guess everyone is not like me, I mean the Oblivion expansions were popular and I can't understand why people want extra content for these games that are already enormous. I'd rather be able to download another Halo 3 single-player campaign. Zerostatic0

more of a good thing is never bad. its even better if I can download it for free!

let's hope people will still like to play and pay for extra content... i'm at 60% of the game and it's clear to me that the missions are great, but not very varied.... i'll be DONE with the game when i finish the single player.

If it turns out the DLC is really worth it i might consider buying the 360 version second hand.. but i doubt i will.. new games, new experiences.

To be honest, i think thats why GTA IV is missing so much that the last games had, so they can have some significant things to add thru DLC, which its really unfair to PS3 owners if true

They probably needed the cash, T2 has been losing money for a while (untill GTA4 of course). THats why EA is trying to buy them out.

yes, but remember its 2 episodes, if it is $10(which it probably will be) then only 2.5mil will have to purchase each pack, which i think is easily done on XBL

What this proves is that MS really are shrewd business people. This was almost as genius as when they settled the case against them for rumble technology, and bought shares of the company (which was basically a business loan). Then they get some of the money when the stock goes up after winning the suit against Sony.

Ms has been making Sony their *itch for a little while now.

I just finished the game and I would love to have to chance for more missions, some where a blast.

hm, I should stop because I though 70% of the missions were great!

Point is, $10 for more content and storyline will be well worth it till GTA5.

No doubt. Suggesting otherwise is a bold faced lie. Who the hell wants to have the option to purchase more content ( and its very reasonable to assume it will be substantial) for a AAAA game? Thats crazy. I would rather not......

It was a good call by MS for sure to take the plunge and make a deal like this.

When the DLC hits the tin foil hats will be talking about how MS purchased reviews for both the stock game and the DLC, just to justify their move.

Assuming I'm correctly reading your comment, you're saying you'd rather not have the option to buy something? Why is that? Options are great; I've got a Wii, and while Nintendo hasn't released anything on the Virtual Console that has appealed to me in a long time, I'm happy that if I wanted to, I could drop a few bucks on a game. The same goes for DLC; whether or not I choose to buy it, I'd rather have the option if I'm bored some day. Maybe you're not like me, but every once in a while, I like to go back and play my old games. Imagine wanting to play GTAIV in two years, and then thinking, "well...I played that game to death, so unfortunately there's nothing for me to do". Now imagine having the ability to drop (let's say) $10 on DLC for the game, so that if you want to go back and play it in 2 years, it'll be something brand new.

I'm not condoning milking on the consoles; personally, I could do without videogaming being as expensive as it is. However, I've yet to see an instance where MS (or anyone else) has forced me to buy anything, so I can't really complain if they allow me to choose whether or not to get some new content for one of my games.

They needed extra money for development and so that they could resist EA's buyout while finalizing GTA IV would be my guesses.
