No matter how many devs MS acquires, you will never get GoW Ragnarok kind of quality on an Xbox system.

I enjoyed 2018 but for whatever reason I'm not excited for Ragnarok.

I am sure if you like those walking sims, filled to the brim with epic "press the square button now" interactive CGI, then GoW: Ragnarok will be a great game. But, it's not for me.

I'm sure it has a lot of fun parts. But, it's still a CGI fest - like almost all Sony 1st party games. 10-15 minutes of fun, then you have to watch CGI for God knows how long. Not for me.

The size of the game on PS4 is 90gb apparently. PS5 maybe 80gb? 2018 was 45GB. So either the game is that much bigger to play through, or the assets and textures are through the roof. But since we have seen game play, I don't think it's the latter.

Or language packs.

Conversely, GOW has been reinvigorated with GOW 2018. Funny how thats works. Sony knows what they’re doing with games, where as MS seems to try to phone it in and provide literally zero evolution in their franchises. the new Gears of war for example plays exactly like the first one, just prettier.

How can you even mention 22+ mil downloads as the strength of the game? Firstly, it was a f2p game with heavy marketing, so why won't it have high amount of download IN THE SAME YEAR THE DISAPPOINTING VANGUARD AND BF2042 CAME OUT? Secondly, out of those 22mil downloads, like 5k people are still playing LOL. From 22000000 to 5000. Only failures have such a massive drop, especially in the GaaS department.

I have the standard Pro controller, but I rarely use my Switch (again, due to time). But that is pretty sweet.

God of War games have only ever been great, if you can't jump cancel in a real action game. I'm sure it will be delightful to row a canoe and carry a log in Dad of War 2 as game journos write soliloquies about how the dealings of a mass murderer warlord made them a better parent.

Halo Infinite sure felt like an outdated simple/low budget game. I agree with that.

As for GoW, the new ones are way better than the generic hack n slash shitfest we used to get during the ps2 and ps3 era.

we're about a month off from release date. Its exciting in some ways, not that I like the series or even care about a walking sim movie game but Im looking forward to the release either way. Should be fun times.

You call this a walking sim, when gow2018 had dozens of hours of gameplay without any cutscenes at all, and Ragnarok is supposed to be twice as big from what i am hearing. It makes no sense to call this a walking sim when you're into UC.

Nice try 16 it's not Zelda or Mario. I'd never down those nin games either because I know a good game when I see it. Let's be honest each company has great games. Xbox is the only one that needs to step up. Grounded was great and I hope as a gamer it continues just like nin,and Sony.

@hardwenzen: meh, the characters are much more likable in uc, both drake and scully, not so much elena but she plays the part well either way. The cinematics at the start of uc games are pretty minimal, which makes it easier to get into. Plus I like shooting stuff.

Also I don't like how the god of war series twists the greek mythology stuff. Im a fan of the original greek myth, and this series just ruins all of it, so it pisses me off in some ways for a while now..

If that's what you prefer character wise, then you must be into these crappy non serious superhero movies where everyone is throwing jokes left and right. And its a video game, it can do whatever it wants with mythos. If we were still in greek mythos, shit would've gotten old. In fact, for their next game, i want them to go to Egypt cuz i am getting tired of the norse stuff.
