Seriously, that doesn't matter to me one bit. People are really desperate to jump on Halo for every little thing.

what they actually said was that they were having some trouble getting it in there in time for release but if they dont they may look to downloadable content to get it in.

either way this small unfortunate bit of news was completely dwarfed by all the good stuff we heard about halo 3 today :)

Eh I dont care, I enjoy playing it with my friends or family by my side, just more fun imo. Though it does suck for those who were hoping to play it online with some people.

no halo 3 online co-op = me not giving them my money. Coop is my absolute fav thing ever when it comes to video games, its the best period. And by this gens standards, to not have online co-op with the 360 and the next halo is down right in-excuseable.

I can't deal with split screen crap anymore, I want my OWN FULL HD SCREEN. Split screen = "I can't see ****" and its annoying. And LAN does not cut it, I am not gonna lug my 360 + HD TV + Cables and controller to my brothers house when ever I wanna play LAN co-op..... **** that. Thats just as bad as lugging my PC over to his house but worse ( cause of the 32" HDTV.

It is MS and they are the pubs so they probably know what is going on. Plus 4 player co-op on-line was found in the beta code and back then every one was saying it was false info, from the number of missions to the guns/vehicles, yet those were confirmed to be true later on. They still haven't committed on the 4 player co-op on-line, but I believe the writing is on the wall. It is happening.

No online co-op is a definite no purchase for me. I'll have enough single player 360 games this fall.

Halo 3 is about hitting scripted story points and progressing through a story. The only conceivable way you could do online co-op over Live would be to setup checkpoints that tethered the players together so they didn't go to far ahead or fall too far behind, and I am not sure that would give a great "Halo" experience.

I for one want to play the campaign solo, maybe once with a IRL friend co-op, and then play it to death on multiplayer on Live.

ms didnt charge us for the new modes in gears of war so i doubt they will for halo 3

First: I wasnt to hyped for Halo 3 after the BETA.

Second: I made a decision that I would get the game for the Co op componet (Im a hardcore co op fiend)

Thats the purpose of online so I can be at my house with my feet up, the beers in a bucket next to me, a bottle of tequilla, salt, and limes and you at your house doing whatever it is that you do. I gurantee it will be virtually impossible to beat this alone on legendary. Im not saying it cant be done, Im justsaying that Halo 2 brought me to my knees with the difficulty and this will be no less.

Huge mistake by MS/Bungie, IMO. I planned to play online co-op a ton with friends....at least for this year.

Doesn't affect me personally as I'd only ever play it through with my little brother, but it does sorta suck I guess.

Fingers crossed for them to get it in there, if only to shut the haters up.

Dude, Halo 1 was played co op from the same box. The logistics alone when you think about the fact that your 360 has to connect to the live server, your friends 360 has to do the same. You push up on the conrol stick, 360 sends the signal to the live server who in turn sends the signal to your friends 360 (lag). Not taking into efect projectiles in the air, people running around, blah blah blah.
