Well this sucks!
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Machinima also confirmed there would be a Kinectless X1 SKU released in 2014, only to have Phil Harrison debunk that confirmation.
Machinima is afraid they won't be able to post gameplay videos onto YouTube anymore and want to rally fans to get Sony to make it possible for them to continue their business model. I'm all for it, those guys are awesome.

didn't watch video = selfownage!
Watching a video with no source implying PS4 won't have gameplay on youtube = self ownage!1. Old 2. You can just use the built in recorder and upload things 3. HDCP Strippers/workaroundshandssss
yes illegal work arounds LOL.
So whats the point of the share button then if you can't upload to youtube or any video site? Further more you can live stream to UStream and Twitch TV with PS4 can't you? So why can't you upload gameplay videos? I don't get that.
Also Twitch TV has a feature built into it's website where you can cut gameplay videos out from your stream and automatically upload them to a youtube account. Is that illegal?

That's kinda weird, as the components are kinda workarounds too for the PS3, and no one got into trouble there. And people have used those HDCP strippers, but hey, this might only affect exclusives anyway. Also, the 'upload to twitch then from twitch to youtube' works. So, yea.PS3 work aroudn was using component cables, which allow to do analog HD :> PS4 does not have that. You can probably just get around it, like you can with the ps3.

But still not super good news for youtubers.
He said that the Share button will have its limitations, however, and that users will not quite have free reign to upload whatever in-game footage they like.
There will be parts of a game that the maker does not want people to be able to see, he said. For example, on Vita, developers can in certain scenes disable the feature that lets users take a screenshot, and (the Share function) will have a similar mechanism. The creator may not want to make video of the final boss sharable, for instance. - Yoshida

if this true and sony makes claims on youtubers illegally uploading ps4 vids...
then thats strike 2 for sony...
strike 1 being..pissing off japan.
KBFloYd
Who cares about japan?
But alot of people will be pissed if sony goes hard and stop gaming footage on youtube.
Three things.
1 - Wait until release it will work somehow.
2 - Need comment from Sony.
3 - Wait until release it will work somehow.

Indeed, there will always be people that find a way.
But if sony starts actively going after the people uploading those videos, then the work around won't matter.
Don't think they will, but you never know.
No official word from Sony on this, this is just speculation because of HDCP on HDMI but its likely that Sony will let you upload to youtube from the share feature.
Uh... Sony said Youtube would be supported months ago... -_-'

But uploading directly to Youtube from your PS4 is almost useless for Youtubers, unless the PS4 has a video editor built in thats as complex as PC video editor programs, which is very unlikely.
So you would only be able to upload raw footage, then download said footage to your PC from Youtube, resulting in quality loss.
First 28 seconds into the video and we got guys dry humping other guys, wtf is this?

Tc's got some strange tastes for sure.

Sony has to find another building to sell to add youtube functionality. lol

They mention this interview in the Inside Gaming video, it's false info.
Besides even if you could share directly to Youtube, this would just be raw footage and almost useless for any Youtubers.

with their 15 minutes recorder god no ,you need support of proper game capturing device then you edit it in pc before upload it to youtube
You can easily bypass the HDCP with a powered HDMI spliter. So If you want to capture using HDMI on the PS3 or PS4 its still possible. I didnt know about the powered HDMI spliter till this year, and it did bother me that I was not able to capture gameplay on the PS3 because of the stupid HDCP. Sucks, but at least there is a simple way around it.
Kinect comes to mind...LOL
typical Sony, hypes a feature that turns out to be a heaping pile of dog turd.

i did not see anywhere on the video that said sony didn't allowed users to upload videos to youtube... because if you're talking about the PS4 connection... oh my god... you would be a complete......... jesus holy lord i'm sure you wasn't... the amount of different ways to record and upload to youtube... just.. wow.... i'll just pretend they have a legitimate document stating sony is baning it and assume it wasn't because of the PS4's connections.
TCHBO ( if there aren't people really that stupid.. i mean. i hope...... there is hope in humanity right ? )
