No Sony Conference at Gamescom

GAMEScom. You need games to get in the door. Exclusives or multiplats that you pretend are your own exclusives. Now I know Sony is broke.

Sony is genius for ignoring Gamescon and most of europe this year. They already have them in a stranglehold and would sell even if Kaz said Europe sucks. Focus on other territories like the US. Perfect chance to stamp out MS and try for another monopoly.

So they moved from one European conference close to E3 to one more spaced out. Works for me.

As for Gamescom, I wonder if this gets them to consider spacing themselves back out from E3. With Paris Games Week offering a suitable alternative, the organizers are going to have to do something to keep Gamescom an attractive destination.

They have Europe on lockdown. It's the Xbone and WiiU that need Gamescom. Sony would still outsell those two consoles in Europe even if PS4s came shipped with Ebola.

Wouldnt you want to go to shows in different countries? You know, to get those countries pumped about your product? Germany has a massive population, I'm sure a games company showing in any country is only a good thing. Plus being so close to E3, they could just re-use all E3 game footage etc, throw in some surprises not mentioned at E3. Missing any even cant be seen as good.

Um they clearly said that it was moved from gamescom to Paris so there will still be a conference......

Sony could release a limited edition PS4 that Kaz farted on and they would be sold out in minutes. Sony can literally do no wrong with PS4 at this point. I'm thinking they shouldn't even bother with any sort of press or advertising at this point. They'd save billions and PS4 will sell anyway.

In this case its bad news for Gamescon since Sony is usually one of those who offers the best show..

Probably Sony are focusing on E3 this year, hopefully they will offer something better compared the past 2 events..

The Playstation Experience event last year was HUGE. It was as big as any one of these single conferences on it's own but it was only Sony. But please give me the link to this as I have seen it no where on SW or other outlets. If you are suggesting MS is hosting a huge games event just for xbox the "same" scale as a single E3 or gamescon please give the details so I can examine them.

We already know how big sony's personal event was last year and there is no indication MS or Nintendo will be doing anything on that scale even if they do have events there so there is no way for you to say they will be doing the same thing as Sony, this is complete fabrication on your part unless you have details to prove otherwise.

@playharderfool: The PSX Experience was a Gad Damn joke. So much build up and hype leading up to it, only to fall short with almost nothing.

I think they are trying to save money to be honest. They will probably do a Direct Feed video like Nintendo has done in the past.

That's what I'm saying. They are profitting on the PS4 and it's software, so why spend millions on a second conference right after the E3. Especially if all they are going to do is show the same things again.
