Poll Non WiiU owners: Will Mario Kart and/or Smash cause you to buy a WiiU? (49 votes)

These two games will push me to get the console 10%
Just Kart will 4%
Just Smash will 8%
These two games attract me the most, but other games already released and coming soon also help 18%
A different game coming to the console makes me want it more, but i'll still pick those games up eventually 10%
I'm still waiting for a bigger price drop for the system 20%
No game will ever make me want a WiiU 29%

Please only non WiiU owners answer this poll.

I'm curious how much more this console appeals to anybody with these two heavy hitters coming out this year (hopefully smash doesn't get delayed to next year). By heavy hitter I mean these are arguably the biggest games coming to the console and still the most played games on any given Nintendo console.

Or is the WiiU pretty much dead to you no matter what?

I imagine Nintendo is heavily relying on these two games to pick up sales, I have a feeling though that they will again not meet expectations in terms of sales.

Nintendo needs to make some announcements, and fast. Aside from the 3DS, I hold zero confidence in them anymore. Not in terms of their immense talent to create excellent software, but their overall mentality that would allow that talent to flourish to its fullest potential but is currently hampered by extreme corporate conservatism and passivity.

Frankly, I see no future potential for their console suited to my tastes, and as buying any system is an investment, Nintendo has yet to prove to me that my money would be well spent on anything past Mario, Luigi, and the regular stable with one or two low budget new IPs thrown on the eshop every once in a while. As for Smash and Kart? Never cared for them. Zelda? Potentially, but I've not truly enjoyed one since TP and I'm fairly sure the new one's going to be a predictable attempt with one core mechanical change stuck in the same old formula. I also don't believe it'll release before 2016 (and that's being generous....SS was shown at 3 E3s, we haven't even seen the new one once), so I don't really hold out much hope there. Metroid? More than likely a 3DS game if anything IF it's ever coming (which I'd actually prefer) so that doesn't incentivize me to buy a U.

I hate to say it, but today's Nintendo is boring. I really dislike holding such a cynical attitude towards them but sometimes they frustrate me to no end.

So no, the only way I'd currently buy a U would be if it were $100. That's the value I see in it now, and towards the foreseeable future.

Usually the most immature people are the types that say they won't play these types of games because they are not "12." Total idiots, to boot.

Behold, the teenage troll in his natural habitat...when threatened with criticism the troll activates his defence by saying " u mad" as he is bereft of any intelligence. Some of the more evolved species of troll oft accompany the words "u mad" with the word "bro" but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Wiiu is a console that can't get to 200 dollars fast enough. And all the cheerleaders rabbling whenever someone suggest a huge price drop or dropping the controller, are doing a huge disservice to yourselves and Nintendo. So, yes, if Nintendo can get a wiiu and Mario kart in my hands for 250, I would probably jump.

1st party games are not the problem Nintendo has that. The storage is a joke. The price is waaayyy tooo high for the specs. The online is a joke. The 3rd party support is almost nil. The lcd pad kills battery life and raises the price and sap the limited memory and cpu/gpu power. If that was not bad enough you can only get one lcd pad and nobody has made a game not even nintendo that could NOT be done on a normal pad.

Also the console is missing almost all the standard multimedia features found on current and next gen systems. Sure the wii u will have a couple games per year that might be worth playing but not enough to offset the major drawbacks of the platform. I have no faith in the leadership to invest in the wii u. When I bought a ps3 I had faith that Sony would make things right and they did.

Personally I like nintendo games but Sony and even Microsoft make a better case for my console gaming dollars. I look at a game like the last of us and Nintendo games seem shallow. What I mean is Nintendo has the gameplay but where is the story and sound and music and graphics. Frankly from my perspective Nintendo is stuck in the past and the game industry and it's fans are still evolving.
