Because there is no viable market for them to cater to? Who plays fighting or music games on a PC...-Feath-
Variety isn't a bad thing....
I play SF4 on my PC with a stick.
I wouldn't mind having those games listed above on PC because it brings in more variety/gamers to our platform.
PC's can use controllers and be hooked up to a TV, so there is no reason to not want these games on PC.
While you seem to be a troll and are trying to start some kind of argument, ill play your game, I'm rather bored right now
rock band> a game made for local multiplayer, not due to piracy
beatles rock band> see above
Sports games> there arent many on the pc and most pc gamers have little intest in them
ninja gaiden > I found the game rather boring and see it as nothing of value being lost
Eteral sonata> we have far, far , far better rpgs
Tales of Vesperia> see above
Virtua Fighter 5> not man fighting games on the PC, again. they are local multiplayer focuse
Tekken 6 > see above
soulcaliber IV> see above
Brutal Legend> this is indeed a great game and i feel the controls would be made better on the pc, but there is no evidence that they kept it off pc due to piracy or any other reason than they wanted to make it for consoles.
while you can try to agrue with your short list of games that aren't on the PC as devs avoiding PC gaming, let us take a look at how many console devs have shut down this gen shall we? Free Raical, Ensemble(last game was x360 exclusive), red octaine, 3D realms (though that was due to them spending over a decade on 1 game), quite a few others i can't recall the names of how many PC devs have shut down this gen........ ironclad, i think that's it, they say it was piracy but their game was realllllllllllllly buggy and bad
I love my PC! but not for gaming.. PC's are only for chatting, sending emails, doing university studies, watching movies, listening to music and cheaking gaming news.. thats about it imo :P
But your consoles USE PC PARTS, and alot of these big consoles titles like CoD, began on PC. Not to mention PC has more games and AAA's than all consoles combined. Consoles or should I call them toys....are for kids.I love my PC! but not for gaming.. SF4 was touted as the showcase of EVERYONE going multiplat.... Why SSF is not a full multiplat? There are 3rd parties that know that they will LOSE money if they simply port....the PC version will cannibalise the other two...While you seem to be a troll and are trying to start some kind of argument, ill play your game, I'm rather bored right now

Hermits are trying to push the notion that the world is going multiplat....Well not all game developers do that. Some know that the PC pirates will CANNIBALISE the console sales.... These 3rd party AAA games are console exclusive due to the PC piracy: Rock Band FIFA Soccer 10 The Beatles: Rock Band MLB 09: The Show NHL 09 Ninja Gaiden Sigma High end AA games: Eternal Sonata Virtua Fighter 5 Condemned 2: Bloodshot Soulcalibur IV Tales of Vesperia Brutal Legend Tekken 6 Can anyone explain to me how this is possible? Why these devs avoid PC gaming like plague?L_lL_l
the only legit complaints is your post is Brutal Legend (which didn't do very well on consoles anyways) and Condemned 2: Bloodshot (which also didn't sell very well on consoles)
The only playable games on PC are FPS and RTSParasomniac
Wrong :| There is Turn based strategy games, there is rpg's of ANY form.. There are adventure games.. Really the pc can play every single thing the console can play because it is not limited to what controls you use.. Infact if we factor in the entire platform including the older console games you can use with systems like gametap.. They can play anything..
Rock Band wouldn't work on PC, it's a party game and party games generally don't work on PC as a platform, not to mention the audiences are different (also there's free versions of music rhythm games on PC that let you insert your own songs and play them, playing the entire dark side of the moon album is fun)mentioning The Beatles Rock Band is redundantMLB 09: The Show is 1st party not 3rd party and is exclusive to Sony platformsNinja Gaiden Sigma is also exclusive to the PS3Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia publisher (Namco Bandai) has only ever published 1 game for the PC in its history, not expectedVirtua Fighter 5 and Soul Calibur 4 and Tekken 6 are also not expected since there's no fighting-game audience on the PCFifa Soccer 10 was released on WindowsNHL 09 was also released on Windows[QUOTE="L_lL_l"]Hermits are trying to push the notion that the world is going multiplat....Well not all game developers do that. I took that list from the GS SW spreadsheet..... so why the games you say that are exclusive are not in orange on that list? Oh and FIFA 10 was not on PC it was a crappy PS2 port.....[QUOTE="adv_tr00per"]Ive just included AAA and High AA games..... Even then, there's not enough games to say that companies don't like developing for PC.Sorry TC, that list isway too short.

uh...simulators, MMOs, puzzle and adventure are all near unplayable on consoles Don't forget all strategy games, not just RTS's, and games that are unbelievably popular outside of the US like Football manager. as shown by your blogs, PC gaming is easily the most diverse.[QUOTE="Parasomniac"]The only playable games on PC are FPS and RTSAdrianWerner

MLB 09: The Show is also on the PSP, that is why its is not a PS3 exclusive, however the game is exclusive to Sony platforms. As for FIFA 10 PC being a PS2 port instead of a 360 port, that hardly proves anything. Hell the fact that EA, the developers/publishers of FIFA are making another of their big franchises C&C PC exclusive says a lot more.and they're also for designing said video games apparently.I love my PC! but not for gaming.. There's been a few of these lately, recently joined people who feel the need to create a anti PC thread with little prior research. I wonder how many of them are alts that don't want to post under their main?
If the OP saw the gap in 3rd party exclusive development between PC and consoles; they wouldn't dream of making a thread like this.

that's because pc is open development and consoles you need a license.

Regardless, the OP is trying to set up PC as being a no go zone for the 3rd party simply because a few prefer consoles. The shear amount of 3rd party support for PC contradicts the suggestion that developers "avoid PC gaming like plague".
A handful of 3rd party developers preferring consoles is hardly a counter argument to the 150+ exclusive games on the GS spreadsheet for PC this generation. Because of the massive 3rd party support for PC; I could argue it is consoles that developers are avoiding.
Sports games and music games are reserved for "casual" gamers. That market is on consoles.
Sports games also aren't on PC because aside from FIFA, every other sport is primarly an American phenomenon, and PC gaming isn't that big in America. FIFA probably should be on the PC, as football is huge around the world.
PS: Don't give me that "we'll go outside and play it" because that doesn't work. Plenty of professional athletes play video games based on sports. People don't play sports games because they can't play them in real life. People play them because they like the sport and you can't always play it whenever you want, so it's an alternative.
So to solidify your claim you post a list of yearly sports rehashes, music games and Japanese titles. Not really making a strong case there. EA has already stated they are going to go in a different direction with Madden and sports titles, presumably an online style like Battlefield Heroes. Music games require special peripherals which is better suited for a console. And PC gaming in Japan is a fraction of what it is in Europe and the US.
PC gamers also missed out on Darksiders.
How can anyone be a pc-only gamer when the 360 arcade is only 200 bucks? It's probably worth getting this year just for Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption.dc337
Darksiders isn't anything special and not many people are PC only, but if you are, it's not like you have a lack of games.
It seems people don't understand the true value of a PC. There are numerousmods and total conversions that are better than full-retail games. Want to add that to the list of exclusives? The list of exclusives that already trumps consoles?

Regardless of your platform choice you are going to miss out on games, not unless you are well off enough to buy every platform there is. So it doesn't mean much to be able to pick out certain games on a platform and boast that the other platforms don't have them, anyone can do that to criticise any other platform.
Based on the GS spreadsheet, which looks at games reviewed by GS in the 7-10 score range...
By not buying a PS3 you miss out on 32 games exclusive to that platform.
By not buying a 360 you miss out on 33 games exclusive to that platform.
By not buying a Wii you miss out on 61 games exclusive to that platform.
By not buying a PC you miss out on 165 games exclusive to that platform.
So based on the figures; if there is one platform that is worth being exclusive to it is PC, PC has access to the most exclusive games. You could of course bring preference into question when talking about being exclusive to one platform. Seeing how you decided it wasn't important when criticising someone for being a PC exclusive gamer; you mustn't consider it a noteworthy factor.

I haven't touched any of my consoles in a long time.
Ironically enough gaming on the PC is cheaper. I've already bought Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 on PC this year and saved myself twenty dollars in process. To top it all off they both came with free games (the original Mass Effect and Bioshock) for pre-ordering on steam! I also got Red Faction:Guerrilla for free for pre-ordering Metro 2033.
I own a PS3 and an XBox 360,but I could see how someone could easily get away with just gaming on the PC.

You see, this is where the whole elitism accusations from console gamers turns into hypocrisy. I can dare say, ALL PC gamers have at least owned or played console and console gamers at least a considerable amount in their lives. Console fanboys, on the other hand, probably never touched a PC game. But it's not like you actually have to try something to know if it's likable or not, so flame on!
I agree with this... I primarily game on PC, but bought a PS3 and 360 anyway to play the games that don't come to PC. The $200 for an Arcade was a pretty paltry investment compared to the cost of updating my PC, although I admit I don't use it too often (often I get tricked into believing a game is console-exclusive, though, like the GTA 4 expansion and Mass Effect 1).PC gamers also missed out on Darksiders.

That said, the 3rd parties listed by the OP are mostly music and sports games. I'm not sure PC gamers are crying out for them... actually, this generation, the PC has received Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero: World Tour. I can't imagine that ever happening in previous times, and even fighting games and console-oriented action games are showing up on the PC.
Too many PC games I need to play, I simply don't have time for any more. And those I want on PC are much more fun for me than their console rivals were.

I plan to get each console late in their life times solely for those 4-5 games I want that each console will gather through their lifespans, but that won't happen anytime soon
