"Casualized" or not, this gen has been aweosme, so sorry, I don't get your point.IronBassI'm relatively sure that the TC means that if you can't jump and shoot in an FPS, then it's unrealistic and casual.

By ur logic 007 goldeneye is more hardcore game than quake 3 because you cant jump. lol it's a fact all the games are casual now, jumping makes a person harder to hit, because if 2 people are on some scalfling in a no jumping game then if would be easier to kill ur enemy than having a game with jumping because in jumping game the other player could jump off the scalfling. no jumping=easier to hit targets more limited newbie gameplay.

No jumping makes it so that unskilled "noobs" can't just mash on the jump button constantly to make it harder to hit them. This makes people actually plan out their moves, so they can't just rush headlong into a bunch of enemies like an idiot and somehow win.
Games are not becoming more casual, they are becoming polarized between casual and hardcore, as if those are the only two categories that gamers can possibly fall into.NBSRDannope i bought almost every console in history no lie lol.
[QUOTE="helloandcyalate"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"] Uh, TF2 is an example of an FPS without any sort of emphasis on jumping that is entirely unscripted and very dynamic.pyromaniac223lol yet you can rocket jump, i dont think you've been playing fps very long dude. team fortress 2 is based on a class based mod from quake 1. i dont think you've been playing fps very long. Seriously i grew up playing 4 player deathmatches on goldeneye 007 and duke nukem 64 my friends would come over my house and my brothers friend's we'd all fight each other on n64. like 10 people lol playing n64 and crap taking turns. no jumping games take more skills, duke 64 took more skills than goldeneye007. You can rocket jump, but there's not much of an emphasis on it, and it won't give you an advantage if you suck at your class. Not a lot of people use it, because the narrow range of movement+lack of healing sources+damage you take getting up there makes you an easy target for snipers or Ambassador spies. After that, you just degenerate into your usual nonsensical anecdotes Trust me lol those people just suck, if ur good at rocket jumping they would jump jump over their enemys head and launch a rocket down on them while they are flying overhead. jumping helps me alot even in tf2 but the player movements has been casualized from team fortress classic. i couldnt get around levels nearly as good without jumping. golden eye 007 made me realize how much no jumping games suck because there was this one deathmatch map with a walkway and no railing and you couldnt even walk off the edge lol. put it this way. ghost recon has no jumping, socom has jumping. anyone who's played both will tell you socom takes more skills.
