The game isn't perfect in terms of visuals, but it is one of the best looking games of this gen. Its got some of the best lighting I've ever seen. Character models and animations are great. My only complaint (in terms of visuals) is that the cut scenes could look better, lip syncing is bad too. Also there are afew low res textures, but Killzone 2, God of War 3, Resistance 2, Battlefield BC 2, and MGS4 all have those same low res textures. So I'm not going to spend too much time complaining about that.

The lighting effects with the flares are sweet. And the forest looks awesome. Other than that... I've yet to be impressed. The lip syncing sucks really bad, it's so irritating. It's like The Warriors, or Dead Rising. The faces just look stupid when they try and show emotion.Not-A-Stalker

I loved that game, except the strange co-op with the screen splitting when you get too far away from each other... annoying. Lip syncing being off is annoying. I can't stand it, whether it's a game or a movie... drives me nuts.

Technical?You mean as selective AA and sub hd?Low res textures?Only thing it had was very nice character design,other then that everybody knows Gears 2>>MGS4.

Crysis 2 will be pretty much the same on both consoles even though i think 360 version will be better since they are showing that version to journalist.

Theres nothing to bash exept some textures. Overall looks great, it has the best lightning and weather effects i have ever seen in a game ;)

The girl in Alan Wake looks like she was given birth to by a horse.

Other than that, Alan Wake is the best looking game Ive ever seen. I havent even seen a PC game that looks that good in motion. Im basing this off HD walkthrough videos on Youtube.

Imagine playing the game as it is at 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor. Thats what Ill be doing when it comes out on the PC, with better textures, AA and frame rate.

Crysis has the crown. PS3 has some nice queens (princesses/jesters? whatever) though.

I'm somewhat surprised by the comments here. Alan Wake is one of the best looking games on consoles IMO, aside from the few texture and lip sync issues people have mentioned.

Game is very un polished,reminds me of last gen.It not even the best looking game on 360.Here,honest thoughts.

Even the weather effects and forests are by miles the best on consoles, physics too

The only thing it is begind is the subHD which is non noticable at all and some lower res textures, but those are only noticable in a very few occasions, other than that it is the best you can get on console visuals by far

It's the second best looking game this year with those lighting/weather effects. I'm impressed with it. There are more important things to discuss though- ie, which console should Mr Level 1 buy, Sony exec has a haircutand didn't leave a tip, etc.Floppy_Jim

Is that why reviewers praise the game visuals with no end ?

Its visuals are hate it or love it.Some reviews also said it did not look particularly good.Anyway...low res textures,low poly world details(cars,chairs,other stuff...),bad animation,ultra bad lip syncing,great foliage and lightning,blurry as hell.

The game was made by small team,first was open world game to showcase PC graphics,so because it was first open world game engine was made for that(developers said that) hence low poly details in world,character details...and then they went missing and went back with totally different game mechanic and 360 exclusive.Of course it turned out the way it did...

It was made as a 360 game and PC from the start. 360 didn't come later
