Will I be buying a PS3 in 2009....YES I WILL. Why, because while I love my PC, I like playing games and want to play more than just what my PC has to offer. Will I be buying a Playstation 3 in 2009? I doubt it.

Considering you are "now playing" a game on seven different platforms, I don't think that money should be too much of a complaint. Can I play these game on a without paying more than $200? What, no?
Even $500 is way too expensive for me.

That's fine - some of us are casual gamers and aren't willing to spend money for the best gaming experience. But some of us who love gaming find it worth every penny. Can I play these game on a without paying more than $200? What, no?

You mean $800?[QUOTE="AAllxxjjnn"][QUOTE="nZiFFLe"]
yea i agree some pc games do look better, but not by a huge amount, not enough to spend 2000+ on a rig or more.
nZiFFLe
lol don't give me that bs. i have a pretty good pc, good graphics card, 4gb ram, etc. and i spent clost to $1500 on it. and some games i can't even play with everything high settings without getting huge drops in framerate and huge amounts of lagg. i use to upgrade my machine pretty frequently (every 6-8 moths or so) just to play some new games that come out, but i stopped since it was getting too expensive.

You got ripped off then. Don't assume your case is everyone's case. I spent $600 building a PC last summer - it runs nearly every maxed. Hell, Empire: Total War breezes by with 4x AA and 16x AF at Ultra settings. ZOMG tell me which parts you have :o I need to build my own computer instead of upgrading the family computer :?pc is really the weakest choice imo. I know some people may believe they are superior to xbox 360/ps3 but, it seems some companies aremaking ps3/xbox 360 games and skipping pc (re5/sf4), xbla/psn games, delayed console ports (gta 4, burnoutparadise)and then miss out on the 1st party stuff (halo 3, lbp, killzone 2, gears of war 2). I dopn't understand how it is any superior with the exception of mmos, rts and blizzard...

You can't see that multiplates are better on PC?

You'll want an updated list. Let me throw one together quickly. It's a bit over $600 - but it's to take advantage of the GTX 260 Core 216 price reduction. After a mail in rebates, it's at ~$620 after shipping. Alternatively, you can tone down the power supply, RAM, and Hard Drive to fit the bill if we're trying to fulfill some $600 challenge. The PC I built featured the less powerful 4850, but it's just fine. And hopefully you know how to overclock. You can get that E5200 to 3.0 ghz with literally zero trouble.[QUOTE="nZiFFLe"]

Well dude, you didn't do your research before buying. You could have spent half the amount yet get way better performance with your games. Don't forget, the PC can do a whole lot of other things too, not just playing games and watching movies/listening to music. In fact, almost anything that suits your fancy, IT wise.
PC has always been the best gaming platform in terms of entertainment, raw power and value for money.
A lot of PC gamers don't exclusively play the PC. They just prefer it. And if you're like me - you find 1st party console exclusive suck most of the time anyways. Besides - RE5 and SF4 are both coming to PC. XBLA/PSN games are beat out by emulation, flash games, etc. (all for free). RTS, RPG, and FPS are all done better on the PC.pc is really the weakest choice imo. [QUOTE="walter429"]None of those exclusives are good or coming out within the next year. Alan Wake looks good though.GodLovesDeadlolwut? :P i just found that really really funny ....and on topic, u do not get exclusives on PS3 or 360 or Wii if u ONLY have a gaming rig. Jus pointin that out. :P also when is starcraft 2 coming out? i am really interested in that game

Yet Pc has empire total war, race on, diablo 3, starcraft 2, Zeno clash, Cryostasis, Project offset, Half life episode 3, Demigod, cities XL, battleforge, rfactor 2, natural selection a gazillion mmo's, lots of free games like americas army 3 ( using unreal engine 3), trackmania, battlefield heroes, quake live and lots more all these exclusive(maybe except HL episode 3 but we all know which version will get most support ) and coming for pc the next 1-2 years. Also as for SF4 is coming to PC and most likely RE5 as for delayed ports i dont care as long as i get better graphics mod support and are cheaper ( GTA4 46euros, Burnout paradise also 46euros, HAWX 27euros and the console players have to pay 60 and 70 euros).
Let alone multiplats games like fallout 3, mass effect, bioshock, Mirors edge, prince of persia that with a freaking $90 9800gt i can play them at 1920x1080 maxed out with 4xAA . Thats not enough? How about mods? half life 2 has the greatest mod community with many total conversation mods for free that some times are even better than retail $70 console games. Same goes for crysis, battlefield 2 and other games
also when is starcraft 2 coming out? i am really interested in that gamekilla4lyfeBlizzard said, "When it's done". :P
That game looked horrible imoI still pray to Jesus every night for blizzard to release Starcraft: Ghost.

Why did you have to make this thread? Now a bunch of ignorant consolites are going to say things like, "THEY LOOK BORING SO THEY MUST SUCK" or "LOLO $5000 PC!". Plus, you left some great upcoming games off that list.

Your point? Blizzard is not known for making horrible games. So, sorry if i take their track record more seriously than your OPINION.
I'm really not interested in the majority of the PC's exclusives, sorry (all but 1).
I hope SC2 can play on my computer. :(

The 6800 Ultra came out in 2004 and it plays games medium at 1024x768 very well. That's a 5 year old card. The 8800 GT came out in 2007. It still maxing the most taxing games (Crysis)
Again, I'll say, if you know what you're doing, PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming when you factor in fees and game prices.
Will I be buying a PS3 in 2009....YES I WILL. Why, because while I love my PC, I like playing games and want to play more than just what my PC has to offer. I really have no idea how PS3 got thrown in this thread, but if I had a choice to only keep two gaming systems this generation it would probably be my PC and PS3.[QUOTE="di_sgt_barber"]

Enjoy spending 20$-30$ more on your games.
No joke. I did some math back in 2006-2007 and PC gaming was by far cheaper than console gaming.. and this was when it was expensive to get a 360 quality computer.

That's what happens when you buy a pre-built PC.Computers bought from iBUYPOWER or CyberPower PC are often cheaper than building it yourself if you take into consideration the whole package. Plus, you get a free three year warranty and "peace of mind".
[QUOTE="di_sgt_barber"][QUOTE="bdum_pshhh"]Say, hypothetically I wasn't interested in ANY of those games, PC gaming would be crap for me.bdum_pshhhtough luck. Just to let you know I would actually be excited for a lot of those games... If I had a decent gaming rig.I have a powerful rig and the only one of those I really care about is Diablo
Alot of the PC exclusives, just dont interest me...
PC may have the most AAA games (23 vs 19/18 : x360/PS3) And 0 AAAA (2 PS3/1 x360) and 97(62 exclusive) AA since 2005...but that "best exclusives" part, just isnt right for me.
Also, multiplats could have better gfx on PC, but why do alot of multiplats score less than thier console couterparts and sometimes have alot more problems with them?

PSGamerforlife
Because they're basing the game on other PC games. FPS on the PC usually get worse scores on the PC because the PC has better FPS. Also, there's the problem with the fact that a lot of games are direct ports so it's a console experience on a PC which can be a problem when you want to use a mouse. Furthermore, there's the occasionally lazy port which makes it lose points because it doesn't run as well as it should .. which isn't really a problem since console games aren't anywhere near close to taxing modern computers.
@nhh18: Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV ARE coming to PC so your whole paragraph just went out the window :(
