But it also made more profit than the XBL version even before the holiday sale.
Microsoft must take a large cut out of the revenue.

Although I'm completely ignorant when it comes down to arcade titles sales, don't PC arcade titles usually edge out PSN, XBL, Wiiware whenever they're multiplatform? moose_knucklerIndeed, they do.
The problem with Super Meat Boy on the 360 is that it has no guns and first person perspective.kuraimen
Do you even know how much it sold? Team Meat even twitted and posted on their website how happy they were with the XBLA sales, and that they never expected it to be as much of a hit as it was.
Casual garbage like this always sells a lot on the PC.

is the only thing that can be used to describe that post. Play the later levels, and some of the warp zones and night time versions of levels, I live in a family of casual gamers, I play with casual gamers, no way is super meat boy a game for casual gamers.
What? Super Meat Boy is one of the more hardcore platfomers out there. Casual gamers wont be able to get passed the later levels and forget about the warp zones and the dark levels.Casual garbage like this always sells a lot on the PC.

I bet if this were the other way around we'd have a few dozen 'PC gaming is dying' posts by now. I'm glad that PC gaming has shifted towards indie gaming, it allows for new developers to experiment without going bankrupt. A perfect breeding ground for creativity.

Yeah, Super Meat Boy is insanely hard. Classic 2D platformer - very challenging. No one who has played it would call it casual
Edit: In fact, it's one of the few games that has made me feel like breaking things :P Amazing game though, glad I grabbed it when it first released.
For your sake, lets just assume you are sarcastic. Or you say casual because it's simple (which would still be wrong anyways)Casual garbage like this always sells a lot on the PC.

Call me when the PC version of Crysis 2 outsells the 360 version. Until then, please stay away from the "create new topic" button ;)BodyEliteEh, won't happen after they butchered the PC version. But anyway call me when the 360 gets a new exclusive worth a damn.

Because indie games don't count, right?
And ironically Super Meat Boy is much better than a lot of Xbox exclusives.

I was going to say that Black Ops was probably his idea of the most hardcore game ever, but you beat me to it!
Sad that the previous post of this got buried but, that's system wars for ya! Also MS takes 30% of the revenue from an XBLA game I believe. And I thought Valve does the same thing with games on Steam? Might be wrong though.EliteM0nk3yYep. Steam also takes 30%. So SMB simply sold better on PC
So it sold more cause of the holiday sale? so we got that confirmation that the reason it sold more units is cause of the holiday sale.
This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. What -does- surprise me is that developers are still making Xbox-exclusive downloadable titles (like Limbo) when they'd sell more on the PC, without having to put up with all of Microsoft's crap.Planeforger
Because apparantly the Xbox 360 has no pirates according to the maker of Limbo. Which is funny since the Xbox 360 is easy to chip.

Everyone knows that Limbo staying exclusive it's a lame decision. That game in steam would have been pretty big.
But maybe M$ paid them a lot of money.

Derp.
before the sale it was sold on both platforms for the same price, wasn;t it? If so then even without holiday sale it would sell more than 360 versioSo it sold more cause of the holiday sale? so we got that confirmation that the reason it sold more units is cause of the holiday sale.
WilliamRLBaker
aw man, knowing this means I really do need to get the PC version.
LegatoSkyheart
I don't think that platformers like this are better on keyboard.
The reason why little downloadable games sell more on pc is because everyone have one in their home or office. After you start getting bored of work you just start a simple game like this and and have fun for 20 min.
