Not sold on Halo Wars?

The cinematics are absolutely amazing in this game. I think they put way more effort into them then they did into the mediocre gameplay.

Honestly, Ensemble should have just made a CG movie.

Edit: Haven't even played the real game and I can already tell you the following: everyone in this game is going to die sometime in the Halo Wars story. If they show it or not is up to Ensemble. Forge will die, Anders will die, that ship is going to die ... their fate is common knowledge to Halo fans. The prophet dies in the FPS games.

ANYONE who plays Halo knows that "event" is going to happen. Why did you need a spoiler warning?

I don't know, I just didn't feel spoiled. I guess it sucks to know how the arbiter dies, if he does die (which he does sometime in the Halo lore, as we get a new Arbiter in Halo 2), but I'm really more interesting on knowing WTF is going on in some of those scenes. Especially the Flood part.

I'm not 100% sold on Halo Wars because I enjoy some more tactics in my stratagy games. Its awesome for what it does though.Wasdie

I was sold on the demo, very solid controls for a RTS on a console and some pretty good gameplay as well. Kinda plays like Red Alert 2 which is a good thing.

I'm getting this game but since I refuse to buy any game over 40$ I'll have to pass it for some time or get it used.

Also, I don't even personally know the full story. Outside of Harvest getting destroyed, (knowledge gained from reading the Halo novels), I don't entirely know what else is going on in the story. I only know as much as I've read, and if you get "spoiled" from released knowledge, maybe you should get off the internet till you beat the game.

Now why the hell wasn't Halo 3 that epic?

I mean, sure the game felt epic at times, but in that game we were "ending the fight." Here Reach is going to be glassed to hell and it seems like it is going to be more epic than the fate of humanity. Mind you the Fall of Reach is pretty cool, but which I just feel the fight to end it all should be bigger or have more to it than it did.

To the video though, definitely going to have to try the demo now. Possible buy for me and its got me super psyched for ODST and, we'll see if it ever comes, but Halo 4. Or a first-person shooter prequel with the other spartans would rock as well. :)
