that the PS4 has two Jaguar CPU clusters
for eight cores in total, two of which are
reserved by the operating system.

Yeah bu bu ClownZone: Framerate Fall doesn't use the OS. Kaz said so. Lolhttp://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-how-the-crew-was-ported-to-playstation-4i didnt know this

2 CPUs reserve for OS is LOL for the cows.
To balance the view, PC has it's own "supercharger" i.e. AMD HSA (HSAIL) for the PC.

its probably like the bulldozer where it was a "module" per two cores. likely they upped it to four and they share cache for instructions/data as well.Depending on what you consider a core the bulldozer isn't really 8 cores. Its capabale of processing 4 processes, but 2 threads per core, and has a second integer per core. Not floating point though.. Its likely based off that design, more geared towards threading vs multiprocessor since games are 1 process. The L2 Cache is split between groups of 4 cores. I'm interested in knowing if and how large the L3 cache is in all honesty.

Why.? Again even if it end up like that worst case scenario is on par with the xbox one, while having a 700Gflops advantage a 2GB of ram more for games.
So tell me Ron how many games on PC are taking advantage of HSA.?
Oh wait how many games support HSA now.? Oh wait HSA is late on PC were few GPU can actually take advatage of it,reason why sony was force to use its own HSA..
By the way i told you so,didn't i tell you about Onion and Garlic.? So 20GB/s for the CPU + 176GB/s for the GPU.
welcome to the xbox one party  get your 2 cores reserved on cows #staymad :cool:Tessellation
The xbox one reserve the same 2 and 10% of the GPU + 3GB of ram for OS..
1.1TF vs 1.84...:D
The PS4's GPU is very programmable. There's a lot of power in there that we're just not using yet. So what we want to do are some PS4-specific things for our rendering but within reason - it's a cross-platform game so we can't do too much that's PS4-specific," he reveals.

The 2 cores is still only being taken from the Shadowfall slides, it's not been confirmed anywhere at all.

They are basing it on Killzone 2 slides...
Interestingly, Guerrilla's presentation explicitly refers to "every" core being used, but the screenshots of the profiling tools - developed by the team itself owing to the work-in-progress nature of Sony's own analysis software - only seems to be explicitly identifying five worker threads. As of right now, we have no real idea of how much CPU time the PS4's new operating system sucks up and how much is left to game developers, and we understand that the system reservation is up in the air. However, the profiling tool shows that in the here and now there are indeed five workers threads, plus the "orchestrator"
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-inside-killzone-shadow-fall
They got this one wrong and was bring to attention by your beloved site Beyond3D,in here they claim 6 threads but only 5 working and 1 orchestrator, but is not like that they are not counting core 0 which is the first one and can easily been seen doing the same jobs the other 5 are doing.
So yeah until sony confirm this is not official, and DF is basing it on Killzone post mortem PDF..

MK-Professor
And there goes the point flying..
I am no bragging about 20GB/s bandwidth which is more than fine for this Jaguar, hell many stronger CPU on PC don't use 20GB/s.
The point is that many believe that the 176GB/s bandwidth was shared with the CPU,so the PS4 ended with only 156GB/s for graphics, but is not like that the GPU has the complete 176GB/s bandwidth for graphics that is faster than the 7870.
That is the point.
