no. Bungie's independant. The press release is now up on their sites. Of course, the independence comes with all the expected stipulations that everyone expected.
Woah, i just checked bnet and it turns out it's not a rumour any more. Though the "they're tired of MS pushing them around part" seems to be BS, though i'm fairly sure we all knew that any way.
No they should work on a flying game. A look a like MC with a jet pack. Kind of like Jang-co F-et, that star wars guy! A bounty hunter game. Modern? sure but a little in the future and with some lawyers.
well, theyre not really "Free" in the full meaning of the word. The artical says that microsoft is retaining their investments, and their publishing deal. It also states Bungie will maintain focus on creating games for microsoft platforms (read: Xbox 360) so all thats different now is that they arent under the corporate umbrella anymore.
Bungie's NOT free, they're second party! they're still completely Microsoft-exclusive, and have committed to making more Halo games. The only reason behind this is that Bungie wants a greater cut of the profits.
