Yeah, so I recently got the three red lights of death on my 360, and MS customer service was fairly rude & uncooperative, so for the first time in my life I'm considering just selling my 360 on eBay (even broken ones sell for $200+) and going PS3.Yeah, I say if you have the money go get the PS3. You in the same predictcament when Xbox was 4 months old. Only this time PS3 won't give you the rings of death...
The only thing is, I'm a big fan of shooters, and don't see too much besides R:FOM that I already haven't played on my 360. I'm really looking forward to the possibility of MGS and FF though.
So should I make the switch? This seems like it would be the best time to do it...

PS3 doesn't offer much right now. I'd stick w/ 360 and if then next 360 breaks get a PS3.helium_flashyeah, spend another 400 dollars and if it breaks again then get the 600 dollar one. That's a very smart way to use your money...

Same thing everytime with these threads, you've just shown that you have no reason to purchase a PS3. Got some you want to give us?NemmeNot everything's about you... If you don't want to answer my question, then don't waste MY time

Thats not even counting the crap warranty sony gives you, 60.00 bucks for one year of coverage, which should be two!

Well, it'd only be $140 to repair, but then add on a few years of warranty so I don't have to pay ANOTHER $140, basically it's going to cost $200 to repair and to get 2 years of more free repairs.

I've heard bad things about getting your 360 repaired (i.e. it's more prone to more break downs), so if I were you, I would just try to get some good deal with the 360 core version (since it seems you already have a hardrive and all the other stuff...)
i dont know if u like shooter games u should stick with the 360..but im sure ps3 will get shooter games as well..with the ps3 you get all type of games..thats why i have the ps3..you should jus get it fixed ..since most likely the 360 will get more fps games..ps3genYou get all types of games with the 360 too...:?

I'm asking you with all seriousness, Do you really think PS3 will be a system with no good games?
Id say get another 360, you have to love its " live fast , die young attitude"vickissv2360 fanboy logic...LOL

But if we're talking about in the future, then there's Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Cry On, Enternal Sonata, and Infinite Undiscovery. For platformers you got Banjo, while PS3 has Ratchet. And for adventure games, do you mean traditional adventure games (i.e. ones with puzzles) or do you mean action adventure games?

The only thing holding me back is the fact that the PS3 AAA's aren't really coming out in full force for almost a year.

Huh? :| I was just telling you that it had JRPGs. I named a platformer (yeah, I know, it's only one - the platformers are really lacking). I was just trying to compare the genres and the amount of the games it has for each compared with the PS3 when I was addressing ps3gen. The point I was trying to make in my previous post was that the 360 didn't rely on one genre (as many people think it is...) Sorry if that came off fanboyish....:?

Why, to play motorstorm? There is no reason to get a ps3 now, keep with the 360, you'll be sorry if you don't! Also, if your a big fan of shooters you know the 360 is the console to own, just get it fixed! Bioshock, Halo3, Hour of Victory, UT 3, Cross Fire, Army of Two, Brothers in Arms, all these FPS'S are coming to 360 this year, plus a bunch of other GREAT GAMES SPANNING ALL GENRES!yeah great advice cuz you can have lots of fun with a broken console.

It's starting to look like I should get my 360 repaired for now, and maybe make the switch to PS3 once their game library catches up to the 360 w/ their AAA exclusives. Hopefully by then there'll be a price cut as well.Yup, sounds good. gnutux
Figure the money I'll spend on repairing and warrantying my 360 now will be about equal to the price reduction for the PS3 in a year or so. Sound good?

You are the Fanboy. Oh and the PS3s break all the time you just don't hear about it that much. If you guys want to miss Halo 3 be my guest.
You're in luck if you like shooters. There's a good chance that PS3 owners might see Crysis on their console.

PS3's break all the time? There might be a few here and there that break down but Xbox 360's are known to break down A LOT of the time. I've yet to read up on any stories claming that PS3's are breaking down left and right like the 360.PS3's break all the time? Go to the playstation.com forums and then the xbox.com forums. It's clear there's one that's primarily occupied with hardware issues.
