I'm already a PSN+ member so I'm not losing anything but it does kinda suck that they are putting it behind the paywall. At least they aren't putting Netflix, Hulu etc. behind that paywall. I think all of the cross game chat stuff, live streaming etc will be free but again, it won't hurt me.

I'm still leaning heavily towards PS4. The paywall is obviously a con, but at least it provides a good value. I've heard many great things from PS+. Besides, this one disadvantage of the PS4 is nothing compared to MS's list of policies

for x1 they need to match the price of ps4 and remove the always online bs and i will get an x1. im more interested in it but as is there is no amount of exclusives ms can release in order to convince me to buy a console that rents u games for full price.

I'm not even going to be paying to play online. I am going to pay to get all the games I will get.
Was gonna grab both either way. Couldn't preorder X1 at EB today though. They were capped at 10 but they were taking more PS4 orders. I was the 14th PS4 order at like 3pm today.
PS+ gives you value for your money. XBL is a scam.

Clearly you missed the e3 psn+ is getting all the features of live gold and more for less money = major burn I pay $60/year for live, which is $5/month. Please tell me how that is more expensive than Sony's $5/month for PS+? If you pay for live monthly it will be more expensive, buy pay for 12 months at a time and its the exact same price as PS+. Pretty sure MS stated that gold subscribers get free games next gen also in their conference. However it was just indie games they were giving away.

I already have psn+ and unless it went up it was 49 bucks. The only thing I was worried about if my ps3 account would work on the ps4. The only fly in the ointment is you now must have psn+. I don't like the idea of paying just for multiplayer. I do like the added features they ripped from live. Still sony is by far the lesser of the two evils and the price is 399.

then i'll stick with my question. if you want to play xb1 or ps4 games online, you have to pay. if you don't care about multiplayer games, then you don't for either system.
