Now that games like Motorstorm, MGS4, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Socom, and Little Big Planet are out, the year of the hardcore gamers is here, now. Casuals (who play game like Guitar Hero, Madden, FIFA, etc) are running to the hills, now that games with STORY and compelling gameplay are out. WIll the casuals finally know their place, and finally give the respect to hardcore gamers that they deserve?Fart_Storm

Meanwhile they would not touch a game like LBP or Disagea 3, games for REAL gamers, with a 10 foot pole. Well, luckily, real hardcore games are starting to come out, which will show casuals whose boss. And no, I know how the business works, probably a lot better than you.

obviously u havent played that game, try making a decent level from scratch and making sure it is playable from beggining to end! its the most hardcore thing to do because it takes atleast 10 hours of dedication to come up with a medicore level, u sir dont know what your talking about

You couldn't be. Madden is consistently in the top selling games, year after year. And gaming cannot be supported on hardcore gamers alone. There are not nearly enough of us to maintain gaming as it is now.

well i guess it depends on our dfn of casual because i know some casuals that are going to get this game (3) but i think what defines a game "casual" is how it plays" so i guess its not?

I play Guitar Hero and Rock Band.... :|

...I also play MGS4, Bioshock, Gears of War, Super Mario Galaxy and plan on picking up Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, and Farcry 2. Sorry, there are no such thing as 'hardcore' games or 'casual' games. They're just games. It's to what degree one plays them/knows about them that makes one a 'hardcore' gamer. 'Hardcore' gamers don't deserve really any respect for a hobby, because gaming is just that: a hobby. A hobby isn't about gaining mad respect, it's about doing what you enjoy.

If someone wants to play a game like Guitar Hero, you should let him/her without looking down on him/her and demanding respect, because in the end it makes YOU look like the disrespectful one.
