Super Smash Brothers Brawl- Poor control scheme for those of us without GCN controllers, unable to find that "easy to learn, hard to master" balance in gameplay that defined the series. 3/5
Super Mario Galaxy- A great game, but is missing that certain je ne sais quois that made prior Mario titles like 64 so great. 4/5.
Killzone 2- Above average shooter. The campaign is a waste of time, and the multiplayer fails to live up to it's potential due to communication and teamwork issues. 3/5.
Metal Gear Sold 4- Superb at times, but Kojima needs to hire an editor, and the gameplay isn't as strong as earlier entries. 3/5.
Gears of War 2- Similar to Killzone 2 -- it has it's moments, but the campaign is laughably bad and the multiplayer has issues. 3/5.
Halo 3- Shares the series' hallmark inconsistent singleplayer, but makes up for it with some of the best multiplayer out there. 4/5.
Grand Theft Auto 4- Tries to blend the prior titles' "turned-up-to-11" gameplay and humour with a degree of realism and a deep, emotional story; fails miserably. Good thing Liberty City itself is breathtaking. 3/5.
Crysis- Similar to Halo: CE -- a superb shooter when the developer isn't forcing you to corridor crawl and/or fight a mindless and boring enemy. Luckily for Crysis, the rest of the game really is that good. 5/5.
