Now that the PS3 is cheaper than the 360, I assume it will beat the 360 in sales

And how much is it for . Gears of War, Bioshock, Halo and Mass Effect?real45
Those aren't really exclusives (except Halo for now, and Mass Effect). I play Gears of War and Bioshock on PC. There really are no exclusives on 360. If you own a computer (even a low or mid-spec computer), and a PS3, you'll be set for this gen. No faulty hardware, no framerate problems, and free online.

And for the record, here is what I have with my 360:

XBOX 360 Premium.

That's it. I've spent a total of $400 for my XBOX 360. Had I gotten a PS3, I'd have spent $600 for two features I would probably end up using just so I didn't waste the extra $200.

But you know what? I can be obnoxious too:

XBOX 360 Premium w/ Two Games: $350

--------------------------------------

PS3 - $400

Two Games - $89.99

PS2 for BC - $129.99

Memory Card for PS2 to save files - $9.99

--------------------------------------

ZOMG LOOK HOW MUCH MONEY THE PS3 IS 101010100101?!!!

LOL @ Mentioning Ninja Gaiden Sigma as a big title for PS3. Its the same as the X-Box one thats been released like 20 times now. On top of that, 360 GETS NINJA GAIDEN 2

And don't count the costs of add ons. People buy consoles to play games... thats why the Wii sold 13.8 million in one year and the PS3 isn't at 6 million. 360 is the cheapest for games. $349 gets you 2 good games (Forza and Marvel Alliance) and they are giving people Halo 3 free if you buy between Nov 21 and Dec 25. Thats 3 games. If you hate them you can trade/sell them and be able to at least buy one game you like. Even if you buy the $249 one you can get Halo 3 for free.

Studio exclusiveness is killing the HD wars. Neither will win when consumers have to choose whether they want the thing that plays Spider-Man 3 or the thing that plays Transformers. In the meantime HD downloading will gain and is gaining progress. By the time the format war between HD discs ends, its may be irrelevant. Or the price of gear will be such that you can get a player for $99. Then its pointless because almost everyone with a PS2 also has a DVD player in their house. Each tv needs one. If its cheap to buy nobody will care that its in a video game system too.

Well, for the PS3 you say add two games (presumably because the 360 comes with two) but with the 360 the games are pre-selected which is a huge factor!

The whole PS2 and memory card for backward compatibility thing is not a practical concern for most people (most either own a PS2 already and if they didn't, they probably don't care for backward compatibility).

Plus for the 360, you said it's $400 but you didn't add all the stuff from my original post ($100 wireless adaptor, $100 something HD-DVD drive).

I fully admit I am a 360 fanboy and I'm just saying that the major features lean in favour of the PS3 actually being cheaper now.
