Now that we get Assassin's Creed, hermits only need a Wii.

Xbox 360 might as well be a wanna-be hermit machine. We have all the games. You know Mass Effect and Halo 3 will eventually port to PC, just like other Bioware RPGs and Halo shooters. Everything else worth playing on 360 is on my PC.

Gears of War? Check.

Oblivion? Check.

Half-Life Orange Box? Check.

Call of Duty 4? Check.

Tom Clancy GRAW? Check.

Bioshock? Check.

Madden? Check.

Oh wait, I'm missing out on Forza 2. :|

Playstation 3 doesn't have much of a gaming library at all.

Already have Oblivion on my PC, and as mentioned in the thread title, I'll soon be able to get Assassin's Creed. Oh wait, I can't play Ninja Gaiden Rehash Sigma or Warhawk. I better plop down $500+ for this system pronto!

Nope, Wii is still the only system for anyone who has a half-decent gaming PC. Not only will I never get anything close to a Wii-Mote on my PC, but I know that the Nintendo franchises will never port to a PC.

PS3 may one day be worth buying if games like Final Fantasy remain exclusive to Sony, but for now, all you need is a PC and a Wii and you can play 90% of the games worth playing in the current generation.

Ya multiplayer split screen is so fun on a computer when friends come over! And Madden is awesome when friends come over! Everyone wishes they could play madden on a pc monitor over a tv! Sports game are so cool for PC (Not)! Everyone knows that PC is made for people who have no friends. Pay extra for a PC to play alone, very good logic!

Wait, isn't that one of the points of the Wii, to play with friends?

Besides, I thought everybody but Nintendo had upgraded to online.

Multiplayer split-screen sucks. Always has. I would much rather play online with an entire screen to see my environment.

Wii is the community console to play with friends. I've already pimped it. If I want to play with friends, I don't buy a 360 or PS3. 360 is just a wanna-be PC with the Xbox Live as its primary multiplayer ambition.

Uh...So 95% of all Japanese games isn't reason enough to need a PS3/360? I can see why you're a hermit...

Well, Xbox Live is an extremely easy and intuitive way to play with your friends, so while it may not be free with mods (the PC), it does have a lot of benefits. The Wii may be fun to play with friends, but honestly, only if the Wii's library appeals to you. I loved Wii Sports for the first week I had it, and then never had a desire to play it again. If I want to play with friends, I sure as hell don't use the Wii.

Yeah, I agree that Halo 3 and ME will be brought over to the PC eventually. But will they matter anymore? Any kind of timed-exclusivity is huge IMO.

I mean games greatness is relative. By the time those games come out for PC there will be tons of bigger and better games. But right now, they are the pinnacle of gaming probably.

I'd say you would benefit from a PS3 as well, there are a lot of exclusives from them your just not going to get on PC.

So really, you can only bypass the 360. You'll still miss out on some exclusives though.

You don't even need a Wii. Honestly there is no game on the horizon that looks even remotely entertaining. I guess for SSBB if you live in a dorm. Where's the Star Wars game? It'll be gimped anyways though. IMO, MS should just release a Wiimote rip off for the PC and/or 360, and start pushing that.

PC owners really don't need an Xbox360 since MS are porting everything to PC in higher definition.

And Playstation 3 is a mess.

Wii is the most popular console (more games) and it offers the most variety. So I agree with this thread.

I am a hermit that has 0 interest in the Wii. I would like to have a 360, but will wait longer for issues to be fixed. And I plan on getting a PS3 sometime next year also, but a Wii? no thanks, I'll pass unless it is free, then I can sale it.

A) I rememebr when I was younger I had indeed friends coming over to play some games on my NES/SNES, nowdays, when friends come I certainly wont play video games with them, but we will talk and drink beer, or go out, talk and drink beer, or go out, do sports and later go for a talk and beer. In fact, what I want to tell you is, there's a lot more better things to do with firends as play games with them.

B) PC has the biggest online community of all systems out there together, heck one single game (World of Warcraft) has more online players as Xbox360 Live Accounts exsist. Playing on a PC doesn't mean you play alone.

Couldn't you make the same argument for 360 owners not needing a PC, with the exception of Crysis, old MMorpgs, and the run-of-the-mill RTS's.

You also left off Rock Band...which is twice as good as the GH series.

The sad part is that the ports on PC's suck since you gotta have a powerful PC to actually play these games since they are so unoptimized.

Agree 100%. The PS3 is horrible (Re4sistance is stil its best exclusive which is pathetic) and it looks like every major third party release will have to be ported at some point (see MGS4 etc). The 360 is basically just a PC for ten year olds.

The Wii has an ok game selection. BUT it has games that are exclusive and will never be ported to the PC. It ofers a different experience to the PC (as opposed to the other consoles which are just crappier versions of the PC) and it is killing the 360/PS3 ensuring it'll be well supported.
