Canada continues to experience significant growth, substantially higher than the US.

Sales for the month were up a spectacular 78% (63% YTD), with console HW leading the way up a whopping 221%, with portable HW up a respectable 30% (despite a decline in PSP sales).

The big story is SW sales. Overall, they were up 43% YOY to $41M, again with console SW leading the way up over 52% and handheld sales up 22%

360 reached a boom in august and will probably continue in sept but decrease in oct and nov; and ps3 is doing bad as always. But atleast the ps3 is now outselling the GBA at nearly 2-1. Keep it up sony, atleast then you can catch up to your previous console, ps2

The wii seems to have slowed down a bit.

And i can't help but wonder if the rise in 360 sales is because of halo 3 comming soon.

Yes we Canadians love Halo. Also, we are really hyped for Mass Effect which happens to be develpoed by a Canadian Dev (Bioware). Bioshock+ $100 price drop also caused a spike here. Its actually hard to find any premium pack 360s in stores lately.

Price drops combined with the high value of the Canadian dollar means the Xbox dropped $100 here. The PS3 dropped$150.

While the PS3 is still pretty expensive, the $399 Xbox isa great price. Especially since our low dollar back in 2000meant people (including myself) paid $429 for the PS2.

Most retailers set the Canadian dollar par with US since its so close, but i'd still would like to see price ajustments to the american price but i don't think we will see that happen.
