Not only the Xbox 360 hardware are selling the software are selling aswell. And not only that, the software gets great reviews. Xbox 360 is the juggernaut of gaming this gen. Bye bye PS2.

I want to see some quality titles (please ensure Uncharted is more than 8 hours....) and an agreeable price point in time for the holidays. Like, desperately. Here I am, the early adopter, utterly bewildered at the floundering Sony. JUST CUT THE DAMN PRICE.

It doesn't matter. Any price point that Sony sets the PS3 will be matched by Microsoft - the 360 will always be the cheaper console no matter what, and price and content is what makes a console very successful. It looks like Microsoft has a lock on the US market, at least against Sony. Nintendo is another matter.

What's sad about it? It was the month of August and the PS3 is a $499 gaming console. I am not at all surprised by the poor sales.

No, they are not. There will always be a sizable market of hardcore gamers, and companies are never going to ignore it.

b/c its so redundant when the wii is outselling their favourite console by almost 150k

They did that already. $100 price cut was significant. What about all those free Blu-Ray movies people get too? Seemed to have no impact.

Prime came out August 28. This is the August NPD so it only shows like three or four days of sales.

No. They didn't even sell 2 times what the 360 sold in Hardward and Software sales. Go back and read the numbers again. Madden 08 sold 57,000 on the Wii it's first week compared to 800K+ on the Xbox 360. If that isn't software ownage, I don't know what is. The Wii even has more systems sold and it made no difference.

you can't say bioshock has owned MP3 in sales yet, b/c it was out a full two weeks before MP3....and mp3 was only available for the last weekend of august

I'm having trouble listening to GS review these days. I mean, they flopped both of those games.

Wasn't expecting a huge boost in sales for the 360.. Glad to see Bioshock did so well.

So "over 100,000" is considered strong sales now is it? 130k per month for 5 years would give it 6.5 million sold. Their previous consoles both surpassed 100 million (worldwide mind you, but still).

Anything under 200k per month is terrible. I'm sorry, it just is.
