Nvidia announce wireless graphics card

Nvidia have announced the launch of the KFA2 GeForce GTX460, the world's first wireless graphics card. Read on for details.

The card sports five wireless antennae that can send uncompressed 1080p video at 60Hz wirelessly over a distance of 100 feet. All you have to do is attach the receiver box to the back of your monitor and you can be watching images in an entirely different room to your PC. Aside from the wireless capability, the card is a powerful, DirectX 11 capable 1GB GTX460.

The price of the card hasn't been announced yet but it's due to be released in the UK soon. You'll find more details on the card on the KFA2 site.

PC gaming getting more hassle free.. now you can switch from your PC monitor to your HDTV in the livingroom on the fly.. but but at least we have teh couch :o:cry:

That's a spiffy gizmo. I'll be keeping an eye on the development of this technology...

And besides, based on what I've seen in dozens of gaming forums across the net, it's probably for the best we'll all be made sterile by all of these wireless signals.

ummm Galaxy i do believe months ago made a wireless nvidia card. Infact, might be some iffiness between folks as the wireless card looks almost 100% identical

"KFA2 (a Galaxy sub-brand) has unveiled a new version of the GeForce GTX 460 that eliminates the need for display cables. The card utilizes WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) and transmits video signals from five antennas over the 5GHz band to the included WHDI receiver, which is connected to your desktop monitor or HDTV."

i might have to get this... my pc could use a new GFX card. my radeon 4350 aint all that powerful. and plus it would be nice to move my monitors or connect to my HDTV without moving the tower.

so could I turn a non-gaming laptop into a great gaming laptop with this?

Again... when members bombared the forum on the Kinect or Move in last months, it was accepted.... Now someone showcasing a new innovation of hardware on the Pc does not get the same rights?

That's cool. But I'd rather just save money and have to go through a little hassle every now and then. It would be great if you're constantly switching monitors for some reason though.

I hear Galaxy is garbage. Also, whats the point of having wireless video if your audio is still going to be wired? Its nice seeing technology moving forward though. Its about time for wireless.

When and where did I say you were being forced to buy it? I said we see about 30 threads a day claiming PC gaming is cheaper then console gaming then we see a bunch of threads like this advertising single part for $500 and above. And you wonder where the consolites get the idea that pc gaming is expensive.

IMO this is more of a multimedia card than a gaming card. You're not going to be able to play 5 different games on a GTX 460, and I doubt it supports 5 monitors for gaming either.

Maybe when I gots my monies back this type of stuff will be cheaper and there will be wireless audio as well.

Looks nice, but if it even costs more then a ps3 it will be mocked man
