That is the problem. Cows are blind. Just by browsing your post history anyone can see that you favor Sony. And over here those are called Cows.
By the way, I think it is a GREAT thing to have Microsoft, Nvidia and Intel working with a game developer. The relationship between hardware and software is one that Sony did not take into account when making the PS3.
Windows Vista = complete joke.
Sorry but I will play Crysis on my computer with XP until 4 GB's of RAM becomes a standard with PC hardware.

Then you wont get the DX10 effects... Â
When you bring a game to the next level... the next gen... you'll need next gen hardware as well. As in you can't play a PS3 game on your PS2.
Microsoft on the other hand... the only reason i have to get vista is because of DX10. And don't tell me they couldn't of done with a XP patch or some sort.Â

So? At least it will perform better then with Vista which is basically the SUV of all operating systems and is a complete resource hog. I will get Ultimate when I can afford to add a couple more gigs of RAM and the OS itself.

Don't read my post history. Read the post in front of your face. That's what's being blind is called. Not being able to see what's in front of your face. You just bypassed the content of my post because you wanted to have some kind of assumption about me. Get rid of it. Either respond to the topic or leave. If you want to flame me, leave. I own a PC. I, like so many, am dazzled by Crysis and plan to eventually get Microsoft Vista, a Geforce 8800 GTS or GTX like my brother, and a Core 2 Duo Extreme. So, please, drop the crap. I am not a "Sony Fanboy" or a "cow" or any of that nonsense. I am a person and I am insulted by your persistence, your negligence, your confused hatred, and your inability to recognize something so extremely obvious as the fact that the content in the OP has nothing to do with anything I've ever written in any other thread, on any other forum, by any other identity.Â

well *knocks on wood* so far so good, and the only 2 things I have added to my PC since vista is a EVGA 8800GTS 640mb and a Creative X-FI sound card, but no probs.
***EDIT***
O wait one thing I just rememberd.... I do have one prob with vista, but its with running HL2 on vista, not really a driver problem or anything, but in XP I never got random crash's in HL2, but with Vista, I get a lame "HL2.exe has stopped running...... searching for a solution....."Â Â piss's me off, but don't know how to fix it ;(Â other than that though, no probs.

Yes, I get a lot of those with the games. Also, I tried download the Far Cry demo and realized the game just didn't work well on Vista. Here is why. My new computer is basically a gaming machine that will be able to run Crysis on highest settings...but when I fired up the Far Cry demo and changed the settings to very high...the game loaded and I saw nothing but missing textures. It's an early OS, but I'm hoping that MS will release the SP1 soon and fix all these driver problems. For god's sake STALKER runs 20fps on my computer and sometimes I get that error you mentioned.Â

Yea thats a wierd one :P  Thing is with the HL2 error though, is that I know its not steam, or even vista its just HL2, cause I can play CSS and DOD online fine with zero problems. Â
And again like someone else said... its a new OS, its not like XP was perfect out of the gate either... new OS's always take time to become good.....  well except for Windows ME that was just a useless piece of crap

I'll give it a few more months until someone cracks DX10 on XP.Â
I'm beginning to believe that Intel, Nvidia, and Microsoft are happily providing their input and hardware to Crysis because they are patronizing Crytek. The message to the consumer is clear: "You really, really want a Geforce 8800 GTX and Core 2 Duo Extreme with Microsoft Vista!" Crysis is like the Sistine Chapel was to the Catholic Church. Listen, Mike, we've got a great church and all, but sometimes people just don't realize it, you know? Paint this beautiful painting, and people will flock to our establishment!Redfingers
Last I heard about Vista in Crysis was them saying was how you can't do much with DX10 that you can't already be done in DX9. And they already said that an E6600 and an 8800GTS is enough to make this game run in High, not a Core 2 Duo Extreme and a 88GTX. And for the record its a Core 2 Extreme, not a Core 2 Duo Extreme.

Last time I heard about Vista in Crysis it was in reference to the graphical perks that it provides with regards to DX10. I also heard Nvidia talking about the 8800 GTX and Intel talking about the Core 2 EXTREME (yeah, I know, I'm not actively PC shopping, sue me). The game is optimized around a wide range of hardware. I've read about that. But the game was created around this particular hardware and the DirectX10 API. I'm not saying that Crytek isn't doing a great job supporting hardware that is inconsistent with this stuff, I'm saying that these three companies are obviously supporting Crytek with these technologies because they want them sold due to the Crysis "wow" factor (which is substantial and very real).
I'm referring primarily to a video I saw on Gametrailers which was a technology discussion or something.Â

Nvidia gets their logo on every game nowadays, I doubt it actually means anything major.Â
I didn't read the entire topic, so my bad for missing anything. Video game companies have always, always, always been giant advertising magnets for hardware and the like. It's basically a, "Let's hold hands and do this together!" deal. Without them, where would gaming be? Competition is good. Cooperative efforts are good. Think of it this way, your product has far less steam if independent. Small companies very often have to band together with the big guys to rake in huge numbers of customers and money. Plus, additional support never hurts.
I'm not saying that all independent projects are doomed without the mega-corporations beside them. Everyone and everything has their niche. It's not worth bashing companies for working together. Honestly, what would life be without partnerships and cooperation?

Vista uses resources more efficiently than XP. Vista utilizes a technique, also used in Mac OS X, that caches your unused RAM, making it ready to use whenever you need it. This is why you see your RAM usage at high levels such as 90% or so: it's because Vista is caching it.

It means a lot to game developers. NVIDIA lets the developers use their massive testing facility to test their game on multiple platforms, to ensure that the game is optimized for a broad audience. NVIDIA also has their engineers help the game developers.Â

Vista is fine for me. And i have the same amount of ram as you do. And im almost positive everyone wants a piece of crysis even ATI. Is it even comfermed as a TWIMTBP game? Im almost positive now their will be a ATi logo on crysis. And the fact that crysis will have ALOT of geometry, will be better performing on the R600. Unreal 3 will be in nvidias favor, no suprise there. Please Log In to post.
