By that logic Bush was also socialist for the bailout last Sept. You people really need to read some history.
i told every one i knew how bad the bailouts where, i even made up a flier with some accounting buddies of mine. i am not as a norm a political person but when the GOV is bailing out an oldmans club that has bad business practices i felt it was needed to speak out. both obama and bush were for the bailouts, why? because they got a hell of a lot of funding by some of those companies that needed to be bailed out. government corruption is fine till it hits the market, at that point its time to fight or prepare for a long period of economic decayYou are one of the few people that actually know what you are talking about on this subject.
The housing crisis was caused by legislature passed by Bill Clinton in 1999 which forced banks to take hi risk loans. When president Bush tried to present this mess to congress in 2004 so that the problem could be solved before it got worse every democrat congressman started accussing Bush of hating poor people. Once again in 2005 pres Bush tried to present the already starting to get worse situation to congress but once again the dems in congress bashed Bush for it so Bush backed off.
The current economic crisis was causedby the banks taking on hi-risk loans. Once people who couldn't afford their homes started losing them it caused a huge slow down in the economy which snowballed into the mess we have now. Banks were stuck with overpriced house after over priced house while the new home market couldn't sell new homes. Builders stopped building. Masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, drywallers, window installers, insulation installers, A/C installers, concrete and steal rod busters all found themselves without jobs. President Bush found himself in a mess caused by government intervention. Banks were all about to go bankrupt which would then in turn cause another huge problem, buisnesses that required buisness loans to run would all be in trouble. Although Iam against the bailout of companies I do believe that since it was government intervention that caused the banking crisis that the government owed the banks these bailouts.
