Oblivion especially when first coming out of the sewers and seeing and exploring as far as the eye could see in beautiful 1080P HD holds that special place in my gaming heart screaming, Now This is Next Gen, and loved all there was to the game. The side missions/stories were the best for its time as well. :D
All that being said, I was sorely disappointed in the leveling scaling but lived with it but on the whole I'm not ready to do it all over again even if it's a new Remake.
We'll see tho since maybe I will, seeing it will likely be day one GamePass. :P

Unreal 5 has had countless issues with countless projects, I'm not sure how it would handle The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and being worked on by a seemingly questionable developer handling the remake. Virtuos is known for assisting games with troubled development but never make games themselves, so it's all up in the air.
The Wayward Realms is the game I'd keep an eye on if you're a fan of TES. Just seems like a project made with heart and care. Something Bethesda hasn't done in over a decade.

I went back and played a bit of the original Oblivion and honestly it doesn't feel bad it feels ok, it's dated but it's still good.
Just imagine a full blown remake with much tighter controls and combat and reworked modern Hud and UI with modern UE5 graphics. If they rework some of the dungeons and make them feel fresh then boy oh boy will we have something special.

I actually think the Oblivion remake is the testing ground for UE5 and if Bethesda may deicide to switch Elder Scrolls 6 over to UE5 or maybe UE6 by that point.
Oblivion UE5 remake is basically confirmed and it's not just going to be a simple remaster. Its going to be a full blown remake with modern controls / combat and UI and spectacular graphics running on UE5.
And guess what it ain't coming to PlayStation or at least not anytime soon. Cows are gonna really be distraught by mid 2025 and really contemplating abandoning ship and switching to Xbox and Game Pass, especially knowing that MS will be releasing a PC Hybrid Xbox next year and handheld as well.

sony only charged me 10 buck upgrade for these remasters and guess what I own the ps5 versions now. not renting. I payed 10 bucks for ghost,hzd,and more. and now I own them.

We have no idea if or when it's coming to the PS5. I'm interested in the game either way, so if I can't play it on my PS5 then I'll just play it on gamepass until I can buy it on PS5. Little to no chance it doesn't get there eventually.

I'm a Backer of The Wayward Realms, and the only thing known is a demo 'bigger than the map of Skyrim' will release in 2025. Backers have access to regular update logs regarding this demo and it's really coming along, looks amazing honestly. I'm very excited for the demo.
That demo will also be free for everyone to play, and will feature three playable races. The goal for playable races in the finished game is eight; including Ogre and Goblin_
When the game will actually release is questionable. Reckon it'll be out many years before The Elder Scrolls VI though.

So to give everyone a current update of Oblivion currently on Series X. I encourage everyone to go back and have some fun with it. The 360 backwards compatible version looks and plays amazingly now of the Series X. It runs at 60fps and has HDR and for a 20yr old game it's actually a great retro treat and is fun as hell to play and have some fun with currently.
I'm more then ever super hyped for a full blown remake after recently playing the original through back compact on the Series X with 60fps and HDR.
