OCT NPD prediction! (month after PS3 slim release)

I'm predicting 250k for the ps3 in September and October both. Don't forget , Halo mania and marketing is on the way (with a $200 pricetag to go along with that - and of course Madden and Batman hype on a more friendly priced system for casuals to boot). It would be kinda funny if the PS3 or 360 could knock off the Wii for just a month ..... a want to see more Wii's a fad threads , those are always fun.

I don't think it will be that high, but I think over the course of the holiday season the PS3 Slim and the fattie will really sell well. Especially if the fattie comes with 2 games.

Yes the price drop and release of the Slim could propel above the 360 in the NPD for the next couple of months, but be realistic about your predictions. Saying that it will sell 800,000 and the Wii will only sell 20,000 is improbable.

Hey I just checked and the PS3 is number 1 I know that is the slim. LOL. Well the regular PS3 is 18 and the Wii is 7 so not too bad for the PS3. But I do agree the old PS3 is not selling out that fast. I still see stock of the 80gb at best buy and walmart. Now for some reason the 160gb seems hard to find at stores well at least at Best Buy. I think the it's obvious that the Slim is going to be the real mover for the PS3 and not just the price cut alone. i'm sure retailers will drop the current 80gb to $249 to get them out of stock once the slim is available.

Well even though your list might have been a little off I agree that with you that the current 80gb isn't really flying off the shelves like the other poster mentioned. Now the SLIM PS3 seems to be an extremly hot item. I think we might be surprised by how hot when September numbers come out. It could be a huge month for Sony and the PS3.
