That was easy.
But cows will defend their developers and games no matter the flaws, as proven by some unsatisfied cows over Killzone 3 underwhelming reviews. So you made this thread just to see how many sony fanboys there are on SW?[QUOTE="Wasdie"]
This is even a debate?

But cows will defend their developers and games no matter the flaws, as proven by some unsatisfied cows over Killzone 3 underwhelming reviews. That's ridiculous. I love Killzones 2&3. They are my favorite multiplayer shooters. But that in no way makes me think Guerrilla is a more accomplished or innovative dev than Valve. Valve is one of the greatest devs of all time.[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

Of all devs, why are you comparing these two? Anyway, obviously the answer to your question I Valve. That is in no way a knock on Guerrilla though, they have become a very good and well respected dev. Valve has done so much more for the gaming industry though. The ridiculous thing is that you know there will be people saying that because they aren't on Valve's level Guerrilla sucks. Which is ridiculous.incuensuochathey both have made FPS and nothing else.
they both have made FPS and nothing else.Valve created steam. Portal is more of a puzzler IMO. Every single one of their FPS is completely different from one another. Different styles, mechanics, strategy, etc... While so many devs today are making the same game over and over again (COD clones), Valve has shown that a lone dev has found many different ways to design a shooter, and not a single one of them is a COD clone.[QUOTE="incuensuocha"]Of all devs, why are you comparing these two? But who does?[QUOTE="incuensuocha"][QUOTE="Ravenchrome"] they both have made FPS and nothing else.

I love me some Killzone, but Valve has obviously done more and done better than Guerilla in pretty much every aspect of gaming
I've been underwhelmed by GG, but they are a modern gaming company. I love valves games but the source engine is dated beyond belief.
Valve just isn't the company they once were. Profit is far and away the most important thing to them at this point but their fans get furious when they are talked about with anything other than reverence. It is an outdated engine powering short good games that run on the vapors of past accomplishments. The games are NOT so good that they make up for the delays, length and clunkiness.
I played Half life in the 90's and half life 2 and it's episodes about 2 years ago... and though I enjoyed it all i thought was "I'll bet this game would have been awesome ten years ago".
I will take L4D over KZ3 any day, but I have to back the company that is hungry and that really WANTS to do something new and special and to make it's mark, as opposed to supporting a company that is more content to rest on it's laurels and fanboys and overpriced monopoly on digital distribution.
why are you comparing GG and valve? GG have just come to gaming while valve have been in gaming for soo long, valve have much more experience then GG and are also bigger. if this guy is serious about the question he is a noob, because all of it is obvious. i dont think he is being serious tho. NWA90sslow night on SW thats why :P
This thread was created for the sole purpose of provoking hardcore Cows. The problem is even Cows can't deny the obvious, that Valve are simply the more accomplished dev. If I created a thread asking who's better between Blizzard and Bungie, what do you think would happen?incuensuochaWell, Bungie and Blizzard have been founded in the same year for a start, and before Halo even debuted, they were already known for Myth series and ONI.

Valve was founded in 1996, GG was founded in 2000. It's not that big of a difference.

And? Valve debuted 2 years later with a masterpiece that changed the gaming forever while GG debuted in 2004 (4 years after their inception) with abysmal Shellshock: Nam '67?And? I know. I'm just saying - using "but Valve is an older studio" as an excuse for GG won't fly.

Erm... Valve
Valve are one of the most liked devs of them all.
And i believe i read somewhere that per employee valve is one of the most profitable companies in the world, beating giants like microsoft.

Some people might be upset with the rating beause it was a fantastic game. But and 8.5 is a great score at any rate.
On topic, Is this serious? Valve is way better, they've just been around longer and have proven their ability to create multiple high class ips
