I cried 7 times during the cutscenes and i just couldnt even believe what i was playing at times, its like the hand of god helped create this masterpiece

Snake would think you guys are such ****ies.
 omg i lol'd so hard at that.
but seriously, these kids must be young. the longer you live, the more you go through, the harder your heart gets. i don't feel much when i see movies or video games anymore.
I think thread of mediocrity and awkwardness is more appropriate.diped
I'd agree. MGS4 may be a great game to some, but I just found it to be rather meh.

Im actually 21 :| Its just that I grew up my whole life with my sister and her friends, So i had no social obligation to be "emotionally tough." Video games are art too. People cry whilst watching movies, while listening to music, when looking at a painting...why not for video games? If something touches you emotionally whats the harm in expressing it? Are you so insecure that you stifle your own reactions all because of how other people will view you? If so, then I sincerly hope you mature into an independent human being.

Well at least you admit it qualifies more as a movie. I cried 7 times too, but out of frustration. I thought I purchased a "Game".
I don't think it was compatible with the PS3 controller, It would never let me play.
I can't stand the MGS isn't realistic argument, MGS is what it is, it's always had the same essence, MGS1 already had crazy over the top themes why is that a bad thing? I love MGS's style and it's been a privelige growing up playing the series, Greatest game series ever made imho.Eddie-Vedder
Seriously, you never hear anyone complaining that Halo or Resistance or GeoW arent realistic. Nothing in MGS1 ever said this game was pure realism. I mean in MGS1 we had Pyscho Mantis FFS! A freaking pyscho-kenetic being with telepathy and telekenesis...How did that make anyone believe MGS4 was based on realism? How about the near dead Ninja walking around? Alot of the haters (not all of them) are victims of their own biased assumptions. If I played Gears expecting a kid-friendly platformer like Mario, Im sure i'd be disappointed too :|

:o!!!! HEATHEN!!!!!!! :x :P
MGS4 literally owns everything this generation. BioShock? GTA4? GeoW? Halo 3? Super Mario Galaxy? Nothing comes even close.metalgear-solid
I like this guy!
It's a good game, though not godly.
Personally I wasn't overly impressed/compelled by the game. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It was a shame they couldn't use the MGS2 main theme though. There was some BS plagiarism issue and Kojima left it out out of respect to the original composer.

The finale....just wow! The ending however wasn't as strong as MGS3's. The wedding ruined it. If it weren't for you-know-who to pop out the ending would've been disapointing. But an awesome ending nonnetheless. Ranks as one of the the best endings in a vidya game yet...

i guess that's what the marine corps will do to a guy, huh?
i have nothing against emotional people. i find it offensive that you think i'm immature because i can't feel anymore due to my experiences.
and i've only been through the training! they show us all kinds of pictures of dead and mutilated enemies, and make us yell 'kill' so much, that i really stopped feeling bad when i they showed us death, and started getting motivated by it. its strange, really, seeing half a man, and you start thinking ' i wanna go get some! ooh rah!'
i'm in the reserves, so my human side is returning a little, but i still have trouble feeling pity or grief when i see people die. you should see the 0311 guys, its like some of them lose their souls altogether.
i'm sorry if you took offense at my statement. i didn't mean anything by it, just that the more you live, the more you get used to bad things happening, the less you care when they do happen.

If MGS4 wasnt such an amazing game, I would have called the timing of this thread ridiculous.
But seeing as it is so amazing, let the MGS4 discussions reign until next year!!!! WOOO!!!

lolz. yes, yes, i suppose it is good.
i personally didn't enjoy it as much as most of those on this board.
but i would give it goty just for its inventive nature, not to mention an epic story.
Im Glad You-Know-Who Did because like you said if he didn't it would have been dissapointing , lol i was staring with amazement when You-Know-Who arrived.XxSTILL_BORNxX
not to mention the epic music playing in the background

not a problem. like i said, i have no problem with emotions. i can still appreciate what you must feel when you play mgs4, if it really means that much to you. so i suppose i should apologize for assuming you were young.
in fact, i should commend you for keeping hold of your emotions despite having lived a while. you are a better man than i. always try to keep that, no matter what life throws at you.
keeping emotion is a sign that you have a soul and a heart. its good to have a soul. just don't hate people that lose theirs. pity them.
