lol... Man you have to be kidding or trolling. Calm down it isn't cheating the system.. it is advertised (although poorly). Also, the split second your time runs out on your three years you can immediately resub for another 3 years of Live and upgrade it for the $1 deal, but you have to let any remaining time elapse first. Why that hurts your feelings I don't know... if I was doing something shady to cheat the system that's one thing, but they are the ones who offer this deal...
Imagine saying they don't care when it's literally hundreds of dollars cheaper.. I don't think that's the case at all. I think that they are aware that only the most devote people will even know about it and those people will spend more than enough (much more than average) on software, hardware, etc. and other endeavors over time. The most casual players wont know about this deal (unless god forbid they read), but then again the most casual aren't going to get the family pass... so I guess I just don't see the point. It feels like they are advertising the family pass for the same people that already know a similar deal exists. Which means this is simply posturing and not much else (once again outside of taking advantage of the full 5)... which I'm fine with, but this is just a good PR doing good work.
Do you feel it's gaming the system to split the monthly cost with four other friends for $5 a month? That's the only way this deal is better at all even if it's miniscule to say the least.
That was my entire point... The family plan is the exact same deal that is already offered. How in the hell is it my fault that I took advantage of a great deal MS offers and now they offer something else that isn't as good and people jump all over it like it's amazing?
They literally offer the damn deal... I simply took it, no more no less.
Why would anyone ban my account for buying their products on sale or through a bundle deal? Usually I just say screw it and pay whatever they are asking from the onset, but if the deal is there to take then why not?
I didn't add time when SONY had that loophole because it wasn't advertised and it was a clear mistake. MS offers this deal and it's in writing... They know what they are offering.
If they didn't think anyone would subscribe for the maximum amount of time then why in the hell would they offer the deal for 36 months? They could have made it an introductory 6 month deal or maybe a year, but they knew exactly what they were doing offering it for three years. They also knew that most people who are willing to subscribe for 3 years at once aren't the people they need to worry about retaining.
Do you think it's pure coincidence that the price of these two deals meets out to the same maximum value?
I can tell you one thing... it isn't people like me that don't pay their fair share in the industry. I buy too many games, and usually at launch... often times I never even get around to playing them. I literally have a backlog thousands of games deep at this point. I also buy just about every console and pass you can imagine. Get battle passes, buy skins, and store cards, give store cards away, buy friends games, etc. I'll also be upgrading to mid gen refreshes if they offer them as well.
If you have a coupon offered to you you aren't usually going to go out of your way not to use it.. this isn't a charity case and I certainly didn't use any illegal hacks or loopholes to game the system.. lol.
Also once again, NO it does not work out in your favor for 3 or 4 people.. you save $5 off the entire 3 year bill if you use the entire 5 people over that time. If you need to see the math I implore you to look back into our conversation earlier in the thread.
