I hope they have the 2013 copo. I saw them build on on Fast and Loud, awesome looking ride.

Great hype thread as always John. I'm in no rush to get GT6 however. After the disaster that was GT5, I'll wait awhile before I get GT6. They next PS3 game I'm getting is Puppeteer. I'm pretty satisfied with Forza 5 at the moment. Will see how NSP Rivals turned out.
Two of the most criticized aspects of GT5 are fixed, the whole UI is waaaay better, everything is easy to navigate to, no more 10 clicks to buy a car or to search where to go next.
The other aspect is load times, the game runs very much faster, there is no 20 minutes install, the game installs as you play and the overall experience is much faster.
As far as premiums and standards go, the game puts all of the cars in one place, the dealership which makes everything universal, basically you don't know which is which in the showroom unless you buy a standard and drive it which I didn't so far, so I don't know whats the difference yet.
So overall the experience feels more natural. So far it's a solid 8 for me.
Ask me anything if you want.
How'd you get the game so early?
Does the game have a good chunk of rally events like GT4?
Are there special events like GT4? (not just like GT5's petty amount)
are there a good amount of single player events in general?
what was the first car you bought?
does the handling feel better than GT5 with the improved suspension and tyres?
are there any dealer/model specific events like GT4? (e.g: Lupo cup; Aston Martin DB9 championship, etc. etc.)
What is your favourite colour?
What is your favourite type of biscuit?
...
you did say I could ask anything :)
Sorry for the late response.
1- Broken street date.
2- Since I've only started playing there are lots of events locked, you unlock more races and challenges as you finish races, they have implemented the smartphone 3 stars system ( think of angry birds ) in the game, more stars unlocks more stuff, I don't know if I like that or not yet it's basically.
bronze = 1 star, silver = 2 stars, gold = 3 stars.
3- I've unlocked about 3 different types of challenges so far, each type of challenge consists of 2-3 challenges inside which means there will be the same challenge but with higher difficulties in each License .
4- I think so.
You start at the Novice then go to National B then National A, International B, International A and lastly Super.
In Novice there are 3 main events and you unlock 1 more special event after gaining a specific amount of stars required to unlock that special event, and after that another specific amount of stars allow you to unlock the National B License, the B License now considered/inside a special event in the Novice races so the old License tests are no more like in the past where they have their own spot.
After that you start In the National B, there are 9 main events and you can unlock 3 more special events AND the National A License.
5- You can't choose your first car, I was forced to buy a Honda for 17000 Credits and they gave me CR30000 which is weird but I was able to gain money fast and bought the Corvette C7 so yea its basically my first car.
6- Absolutely! especially the suspension model, the car response is much more realistic for example when it hits the skid in different speeds on the wrong angle or the even in the right angle.
plus the drifting is much more controllable unlike in the past where powerful cars slips very easily from your hands and you can't bring back the car to your control after steering hard right or left trying to recover to make it drive steady and straight again, most of the times it gave me the 360 in those instances. Now I have succeeded to tame my C7 Stingray in plenty of occasions.
7- Im not sure if they exist anymore.
8- Blue.
9- Oreo is da bomb yo!
I don't care what score it gets. Its gran turismo. I love sim racers. I love cars. Its a no brainer that I will play the hell out of it.
gamespot painted themselves into a corner on this one.
the last one was terrible and got an 8 so if this one shows any improvement at all (and it is impossible for gt6 to not be a better game than gt5) then they have to give it a 9.
Why have you put 9 as the hype on the title? You're meant to put the majority vote as the official hype, very few said 9.
There was never an official hype poll so I'll go make one mow

No point at this point, the thread is tiny so just count them
I saved you the time:
Couldn't care less, probably a flop (should this count as a 7?): 3-5 votes (didn't count these properly)
7/10 : 3 votes
8/10: 3 votes
9/10: 3 votes

There's another info thread too that sometime else made
Question TC: Why did you write "Gran Tourismo" in the very first pic, which has the logo and the words "Gran Turismo" on it? It's one of those small details that gets extremely annoying :P
Because I knew that if I wrote it there, someone who gets "extremely annoyed" by things as insignificant as that would complain. That's the specific reason why i did.
Im a bit disappointed with the Mercedes Vision Gran Turismo, why they didn't design an interior for it? I know it's a concept car but c'mon son thats laziness from Mercedes.
It's a standard freaking car because it lacks the interiors. The other companies in the VGT project should better improve their car designs inside out.
On the plus side I've noticed significant improvement to the drifting sound after the 1.2GB patch, they have finally ditched that outdated sound from past GT games, the car's rubber sounds is way more better now.
Anyone knows what the day one patch full list of features and fixes are?

I think it's mainly to do with unlocking online features and events?
Nice to hear some improved sound effects. Any other things you have to report having now owned the game a few days?
Have you unlocked anything to do with rally yet? :P

Of course. That and not actually knowing how to spell it beforehand. :)
Not knowing how to spell had nothing to do with it, and yes I actually realized later on I've always thought it was Tourismo but apparently is Turismo.

Not yet, I've managed to drive in impreza for a license test and thats it so far when it comes to rally races but I've also just unlocked the IB races so I'll check this out and see.
That is a mammoth OP TC...
15th anniversary of Gaming's greatest race sim calls for a mammoth op

Wut? If you thought it was Tourismo it means you didn't know how to spell it brah :P
I'm just wondering why you didn't make a correct new version of the pic, since it clearly seems like you have the skills for it (seriously cool threads, if a bit too long).
Yeah I thought the spelling was Tourismo not Turismo
Ok, I've just figured it out, all I have to do is just enter every License test or race I have finished that is trophy specific and it will automatically unlocks.
And there is something else, I got an additional car since the game thinks that I have just beat the License test all gold for the first time lol.

Hey, just went ahead and made a new title banner :) Much better one.
McShea is reviewing?
He'll probably get to 15% completion, never get beyond the first few levels of cars, never touch a third of the content of the game, slap it with a 6.0 and call it a review just to get it out on time.
On top of all that, he'll probably play it with a freaking controller and not a wheel as it should be.
I'm hyping a 9 over at IGN. :D
I really don't give a shit what it scores on gamespot, none of the staff over here are fans of any real games tbh.
Another amazing HYPE thread, Mr. Matherson. I'm so glad to see the work you put into these! I hope your efforts can help resuscitate this lame ass board :P.
As for the guy who intentionally posted before it was done, the same thing happened to me back in the day with one of my HYPE threads (another user). I got onto him about it and he kindly deleted his post :). I like for there to be some type of respect. Even though this is a gaming forum, we are still real people communicating with one another. Decency shouldn't fly out of the window when you're typing on a keyboard, lol. I'm sure always_explicit was only joking, with no ill intentions (at least I hope).

Not sure I'll be buying GT6. The physics seem to be on point, better loading, intutive UI, the online seems improved, and the content is crazy. I epsecially like the Course Maker. I mean, what a great way to add value to a racer, right? Tracks are integral after the cars themselves. Anyways, I'll just wait until GT7 on PS4.
I predict 9 here, but you never know.
It will. I made a thread called "PS3 wiped the floor clean with exclusives last gen" a few days ago, and then someone created another thread out of anger called "most influential games of last gen" and then I created another response thread too, but the point is that those threads were very argumentative and active and all came as a result of my initial thread. I know how to keep SW talking without being a repetitious troll.
