Does it make sense to prestige? I figure it's better to just sit at level 50 the first time. Extra custom classes were the only reasons I prestiged in MW2.Killer2401
I never prestige but sometimes I need to create more classes but I can't so I can see how people would love to prestige.
Ugh, you're missing a couple options on the poll. Just because it's COD *crap* doesn't mean it's exempt from possible lower scores...
Ah, what the hell am I saying. It's been getting handed high scores on name alone for years.
I'm sure it will get 9.5, because its got lot of improve that we can see. Gun game and zombie surely will be my most favorite mode to play on Black Ops. Also I will get it on Steam. :P PC always best, hand down.
Any idea on when the GS review is going up?danishkhan
I believe it will get review in 11/10/10, just guess.
Lolz, you put "Producer: Activation" I couldn't be the first one to notice that right guys?
Personally though I think Black Ops will disappoint. Why? Well let me start with something that will ease the news. I hate Modern Warfare. With that said let me explain.
Infinity Ward made Modern Warfare and that is what every noob out there is in love with. Treyarch on the other hand made a game known as World At War which all Modern Warfare fans either 1) Don't know that Call of Duty existed before MW2 or 2) Don't like that game. Let me continue, I have always been a bigger fan of Halo, or in the case of "real world" situations Medal of Honor and in my eyes the only good Call of Duty is World at War.
So I liked World at War a LOT more than Modern Warfare, so for me Black Ops will be good. For Modern Warfare fans on the other hand may see it as "Wut did u du 2 meh gamez!!!11!1!" I hope it is a complete flop and makes them realise there is such a thing as not worshiping the ground Activision walks on.

get your eyes checked, it's "publisher" not "producer", you need to wear glasses :P
Wasn't everyone going crazy for MW BECAUSE it was being made by Infinity Ward? Didn't Infinity Ward make COD2? Also Treyarch or Infinity Ward, Activision is still there.Lolz, you put "Producer: Activation" I couldn't be the first one to notice that right guys?

These Call of Duty games aren't really my kind of thing, but I'm predicting AAA from Gamespot.
I'm also going to predict that Game Trailers gives the game an AAA score and awards it Game of the Year for 2010, best 360 game, best PS3 game, best PC game, best Wii game and best DS game. =P
The game is badass
Im playing the SP and it's really so so good.

Oh don't you let mortgage man see that pic. He will **** himself with jealosy. Wait, on second thought let him see it

compared to mw2's campaign is it better storywise?
the story so far is amazing because it is not just regular guys doing missions, it's Black Ops going through secret behind the scenes missions which reminds me of Goldeneye 007 stuff, it is paced well and levels do make sense with the story when you travel from area to the next.
And I think the hero of the game is voiced by the actor from Avatar, terminator and clash of the titans ( Sam something ? ) he really fits the sneaky secret agent type of guy with his voice..
TC when you're done with the campaign which sounds great so far can you play with the bots and see how smart/dumb they are?:P
mitu123
loool ok sure.
EDIT: online is not available right now, so no adventage for me, i heard Treyarch will open the online servers on release date.
but Im a bit disappointed with the local MP, there is no options to change game mode settings like MW2, WAW and COD 4 :?
I hope Im missing something.
[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]Those are the only 3 options in the poll? WTFHAZE-Unit
yep the game can't and won't get less than AA.
Perhaps, but surely its possible for my hype to be less no?Here's a PC-multiplayer FAQ from Treyarch for you guys:
Call of Duty: Black Ops PC Multiplayer FAQ

Emblem editor. Everything the consoles get. Implemented in a way that makes sense for PC (*cough* no lobbies *cough*).
PC Features: Confirmed
Dedicated Servers. New Server Browser. Dev console. /record. Customizable game modes, perks, killstreaks, ****s, and higher player counts on unranked servers. Map rotation. RCon. Kick & Ban. MOTD. In-game custom Server Banners. And more.

We will release mod tools sometime post-launch. We need to finish the game first. Then we will make sure any urgent issues are handled. Then we will begin work on tools. The extent of the mod tools package will not be known until this time.
Global Persistent Stats, Profiles: Confirmed
Your profile data is stored on servers for you and is accessible from anywhere on the internet. Stats, XP, COD Points, configs, etc.
Leaderboards: Confirmed
Yes, leaderboards – globally persistent leaderboards (i.e. NOT per-server based).
Steam Exclusive: Confirmed
Millions of Call of Duty fans are already on Steam. Their Friends are on Steam. Steam will provide the ease of auto-updating instead of manual patching. Auto-updating will also help keep the community playing together on the latest version. The Steam cloud will make your profile and configs available to you on any computer.
VAC: Confirmed
We are serious about protecting the integrity of this game from hackers and cheaters who would otherwise ruin the fun for the honest players. Used in conjunction with our own anti-exploit measures, Theater reviews, trusted servers, and supplemented by server admins with kick and ban powers we believe that Valve Anti-Cheat will be an effective solution for Call of Duty: Black Ops PC. We are committed to working closely and diligently with Valve to deal with new threats as they appear.
No "Public Server Files": Confirmed
Many of these game features are predicated on having a trusted host or server. Otherwise these features would be wide-open to easy exploits and rampant cheating. Also, anti-cheat solutions can be significantly more effective on games that rely on trusted servers. We chose against "public server files" in favor of providing full feature support and protecting the integrity of this title. This doesn't mean you won't have customization or admin capabilities with your servers – because you will. This simply means we've partnered with an exclusive server provider.
GameServers.com Exclusive: Confirmed
We have partnered with GameServers.com as the exclusive provider of dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Every dedicated server for this title will be running on top quality hardware and infrastructure with excellent bandwidth. There will be a ton of official servers at launch for everyone to play on for free. If you want to run your own server you will be able to rent one at a great price (which will never go higher than $0.99/slot). They are actively adding new server locations and staffing up to meet global demand. If you don't see your location you can suggest it here: http://www.gameservers.com/blackops/
Max Players: Not Confirmed
We have not yet finalized the maximum number of players in ranked or unranked servers. More playtesting is required to determine how high these numbers can go. This happens as late as possible in the project otherwise the game is likely to change in ways that could invalidate the results.
I do believe they've confirmed the max player count for ranked servers to be 24. :D

Not sure where you are up to in it. How long is the game so far? I was on another forum and a guy who got the xbox version said it took him 10 hours to finish but I though he either sucks really bad or is playing it on the hardest difficulty (I remember cod4 taking an insane amount of time to finish on delta or whatever was that really damn hard mode)

online is not open right now, treyarch will open the servers on release date which means I can't try the combat training.
