Official hype threads rule?

I think we should have a rule that states no Official Hype thread should be taken seriously within a months time of a games actual release date. In this way there cannot be no BS de-hyping as a game gets closer to its release.

It's a common cow-tactic to overhype games months before its release, and then pretend that they've never hyped it afterwards.

3. Gloat about it
4. But if it doesnt, you MUST damage control

One thing I never got about the hype thread is this scenario: What's to stop some guy(s) out there with 7 alt accounts and very little time on his hands from overhyping or underhyping a game? Is there a way to combat that?
