STA - 11 was in the demo, sorry :). If you threw a grenade at the guy on the roof and knocked him off, you could pick up his STA-11. Can you answer a couple of questions for me? Is there a bloody mist around the where the bullet hits your enemy like in the demo? Any OMGWTFBBQ! moments yet? Does in-game music work for bots offline? I know it works for multiplayer. Are the other levels more impressive than the demo level? Thanks :).

i had the moment your saying about i shot a missile it hit a helghast but didn't kill him then it started flying in air then come down on them like a moarter but two rolled and started shooting away i was like blown away and i only reached vissari square which is a lot better and i haven't tried skirmish yet

Save up and get a 60 gig used, its a better model all around.

1) that budget was never confirmed by SK, just a rumor & estimate 2) KZ2 hit 60 million USD in January, 2008 so yeah. no :P. KZ2 is higher quality, but twice as much is a bit silly to say. in reality KZ2 probably ended up around 80 million itself including marketing, maybe more.

5 million USD adverstising just for UK alone

so yeah, given the staff and ambitious nature of the project & advertising I wouldn't go around saying it's a put-down to games with similar bloated budgets. fact is KZ2 is one of the highest estimated budgets for a current gen title to date, which if anything just goes to show what it takes to bleed performance from the PS3 with all the development hurdles. not trying to belittle the achievements, just saying your analogy just doesn't quite do the job :)

i don't want to go digging up every bit there is on this, was just trying to show how silly it is to make an analogy like you did based on a rumored figure when the variations on rumors for KZ2 figures are just as ridiculous.

given the original budget for KZ2 (20M) and the articles floating around saying it had doubled in one year to 40M in 07, I don't think it's crazy to say it might be over 60M now, closer to 80M with global ad budget.

it's widely regarded as one of the most expensive titles we've seen this gen in any industry article.

Are you sure about that? I Googled "Too Human $80 million budget" and got plenty of results with no mention of this Surfer Girl character. Besides, it's just good to know that all the time and money on KZ2 seems to be paying off. Nearly all positive reviews and I'm sure it'll sell a few million.

i've heard turn rates increase exponentially to a maximum when turning around, yes. is that what you meant?

kind of an odd design choice imho. it kind of creates a bit of input lag as well, similar to FC2, but i'm not sure if this is present in retail - certainly was in the demo.

well it was definitely in the demo, and people have been discussing it in this thread, so i'd have to assume that yes - it is. not sure if it's something you can turn down / off though. gonna have to wait until one of the retail owners respond i guess ;) i don't see why it would be different than the demo though.

I think so. It was in the demo, and the demo is pretty much the final build. Not a big fan of it, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Yes. That is what I am talking about. That is confirmed to be the case?

killzone 2 just feels more realistic when you are playing. I went and played cod:waw after and i felt like i was on a rollercoaster with a gun attached. I am loving killzone 2 so far.. played the demo 20+ times...

Bad. That's bad. Can we confirm there is no option to turn it off? Because if you can't turn it off, that's bad to the third power.

I dunno about you, but I don't start turning my head slowly in real life. When I look left and right, it's at a pretty constant speed.

COD is definitely not a benchmark for realistic shooters :) it's always felt like you're a camera on a stick... i think that's part of it's appeal to people. it plays like classic shooters.

i totally agree. and so far this has been the main complaint from people - and i don't believe you can turn it off. the major issue with this is that it leads to input lag - which is the other thing people complain about, likely without realizing the two are correlated.

any input acceleration will slightly delay input response on screen as all input has to run through the acceleration code / algorithm. it isn't something a computer can do in real-time as a computer can't predict what you'll do.

i think they did it to try to make it feel more 'realistic' and tense, but i'm not sure it's all that realistic - as you outlined.

Don't think so. I'm not a fan of it either, but upping the sensitivity helped a little for me though. Most people call me crazy for that.

It's not going to please everyone....It's just a gameplay characteristic that doesn't seem to kill the game, based on reviews and reception

I mean I'm not sure if I really like the acceleration, but I can see why they did it. I can also see why people don't like it...it creates a feel that's significantly different from the norm which means it's always going to be polarizing. They probably should have just made it an option.

As for people saying it's not realistic...well I do agree that the "I can spin around as fast I can!" thing on most shooters is pretty damn unrealistic. But I don't think the "constant acceleration" thing in KZ2 is all that realistic either. The intertia effect in Crysis was much better IMO, although that could be because of the mouse.

I'm assuming by the time it releases, you'll have the option to turn it off. By trying to compensate for it, as you've done by upping the sensitivity, you've demonstrated it's not very welcome in the first place. If I have misinterpreted your post, feel free to correct me.
