In my opinion, I thought the conference was good. Didn't expect the two Halo titles and a new trailer of Alan Wake. Project Natal looks good, but I fear it could have some flaws.
they promised 10 new exclusives on top of the 3 they had, and now their total is up to only 5....im dissapointedPS360_Gamer

He's referring to Microsoft.Um, what's the point of trying to contain so much into a single thread?II-FBIsniper-II

Just got home from work not to long ago :x
Waiting for vid to come up. :(
If the lack of "OMG360OWNS!" threads are any indication, then I say it was ~ok~. :P

It'll be the locked ms e3 conference threads forum now... The MS press conference will be old news by tomorrow. Just close the duplicate threads instead of all of them.[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="II-FBIsniper-II"]Um, what's the point of trying to contain so much into a single thread?II-FBIsniper-II

They said they will have 10 world premiere never before seen games. But I believe it was just never before seen footage (of games that we may have known about + new games).
Overall the conference was good. But I expected MS to have more for some reason, since they were so hush, hush, what they did show was absolutely fantastic! But a lot of it isn't coming this year :?
They had Halo Reach, CrackDown 2, L4D2 (on PC as well), MGS: Raiden (no confirmation on exclusivity, and considering MS would have clearly said EXCLUSIVE! I'm gonna consider this a multiplat, but we'll see tomorrow), which wasn't that big of a surprise since its been discussed to the moon and back here. 2 XBLA games and the Natal project, which looks cool. But everything else was games we already knew. So I feel like they really didn't show that much in terms of new exclusives, and everything new that was shown game wise (minus XBLA) is all 2010.
That said I still think they had a great conference.
Liked it. SC:C and CD2 were the games I want most. AW and Halo ODST looked great too. Natal was iffy. Has great potential but the games so far look meh. Wondering where Rare is and the Zune HD. I was hoping to get more on the Live functionality of it.

He means Microsoft, but he is incorrect. The MS rep just said they had exclusive previews of all 10 of the games. The Modern Warfare 2 footage was exclusive, for example, but obviously the game is not. Of the 10 games the true 360 exclusives were Splinter Cell: Conviction, Joy Ride, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, and the Epic one that I think is called Shadow Edge but I may be wrong. They called Alan Wake an exclusive, which does not work with system wars rules as I understand them. Same with Left 4 Dead 2. A totally new Halo game should be bigger news IMO. We knew about ODST but Reach is totally new and they just sort of slipped it in there without much of a delivery. They should have trumpeted up that trailer a bit more. It seems like they put most of their eggs in the Natal basket, which is hit or miss. Some people were mind-blown and others shrugged.Twas good, but could be better... I expect Sony to be as good as, if not better than MS's conference in terms of games, but I just want Sony to throw out features to accompany them. Games are important, but they aren't the only thing.GodofBigMacsFor the most part you can keep the features. If features relate to webcams, Facebook etc. I will gladly take the games over the features. Sony only needs a few more things, like cross-game VOIP chat, before they are up to par with XBL on the gaming-specific things, in my humble opinion. Microsoft announcing a free version of XBL that allows you to play MP games would have been a true megaton, I think they should cut the price at least instead of adding more features that you will have to pay again to use anyway like VOD. To some people it might enhance the value of their XBL subscription, but to me and everyone I know we don't use any of that stuff. We check the marketplace, play music, watch movies, download patches, send voice and text messages to one another, and play games. I don't use any of the other features, and I wouldn't start now. I have a PC for all of those things.
i'm not anticipatng sony showing many new games. i think it'll be mostly new footage and info on games we already know about like god of war 3. i have a feeling nintendo will be the winner this year.Zero5000XI am sure Sony hasn't shown all their cards. There is still Kojima tomorrow, and people are definitely hoping to see Trico etc. Sony tends to announce things way in advance, so maybe they will announce 2010 and 2011 projects while showing off footage of the ones announced at previous years which are almost ready to launch.

So if Sony unleashed a new Jak & Daxter, Shadow of Colossus and Twisted Metal your head wouldnt explode? Mine would.....considering that would be on TOP of God of War III, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2, M.A.G., Ratchet & Clank Future 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma II, WipEout HD Pack which adds 8 new tracks, game modes etc.....as well as Modern Warfare 2, Dead Rising 2, BioShock 2, Tony Hawk: Ride, Final Fantasy XIII and whatever else Kojima has in store for Sony......they seem to have alot more to offer in terms of games while MS offers alot more in functionality

it's not going to, it will only have riot for a day but then it will be a discussion about all the competitors once again.[QUOTE="Zero5000X"]i'm not anticipatng sony showing many new games. i think it'll be mostly new footage and info on games we already know about like god of war 3. i have a feeling nintendo will be the winner this year.Uptown

project trico was revealed a few weeks ago, and i can't, i just can't believe you typed ninja Gaiden 2 in that list :|It was great. Halo ODST, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake and Forza 3 looked very very good. Excited for MGS:Rising and Halo Reach.IronBass
IMO it was okay, my one gripe is that all the games shown only two might make it out this year, Forza and Halo ODST, and i'm only looking forward to ODST  Splinter Cell conviction looks bad ass, Alan Wake looks great definetly gonna pick those two up, gonna pass on crackdown didnt like the first unless it comes with a demo of Halo 4 then I would get it, it would have been great if Splinter Cell and Alan Wake would make it by the end of this year but oh well at least next year is looking good.
With MS's conference, I was pretty impressed with what they had to show. When I heard the guy said "Hey, lets skip the sales and get to the games," I knew it was going to be good. With the amount of games they were showing, it was pretty impressive. Halo ODST, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead 2, The Beatles Rock Band, Crackdown 2, and the new 360 camera all had my interest throughout the whole conference. My main problem is that they claimed many of the games were exclusive, but technically they were not since many of them were coming to the PC. Plus why would anyone want to use Facebook and Twitter on a console? Overall, I thought it was a good conference.
I really liked it.
The games they showed were all great.
I'm excited for Left4Dead2, Alan Wake, Halo 3 ODST and Halo: Reach, Splinter Cell Conviction, Forza Motorsport 3, and Metal Gear Solid Rising.
I also thought the 1080p HD instantly was pretty sweet. I just recently had a bit of an annoyance with PSN's service (see blog).
The inclusion of last.fm, facebook, and twitter is really cool. So is the ability to browse in Netflix.
Natal shows a lot of promise. I can see why it's still in "codename" form. But I'm anxious to see what they'll use it on.
For me, the games were there, the software updates were there, and the innovation was there.
The only thing missing was Marble Blast Ultra 2 and some new Rare games, most notably Conker. :(

MS (and most of the world, for that matter) doesn't go by System Wars' standards. Those franchises they showcased today are exclusive to MS platforms, while the games themselves might not be. Think of how MLB The Show is an exclusive franchise, yet the games aren't considered exclusive because they show up on more than one console.
Nevertheless, I don't feel like arguing this point and sidetracking the thread, so please don't bother responding to this and trying to argue with me. My stance still stands.
I thought it was pretty fantastic. I'm sold on Splinter Cell Conviction, the footage of Halo ODST has exceeded myexpectations, Halo: Reach has sparked my interest, and that Lionhead game is very impressive.
I thought the conference was great overall, they showed a good amount of games, a very impressive camera, and managed to debut some new games. But in terms of debuting a killer exclusive, i think they missed the mark. The best parts of the conference were definately the milo showing, MGS rising announcement, and the alan wake gameplay (which kind of dwindled my hype but i am still excited about the game)
ODST
Halo Reach
Forza 3
Splinter Cell Conviction
Alan Wake
Modern Warfare 2
Mass Effect 2
Plenty to keep me happy for the next 12 months :) :)
Plus MGS Rising as the, well not megaton per se, but definitely an explosion of some sorts.
I left the conference on a pleasant tone. Although supremely dissapointed by Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction was a welcome refresher that kept me going. I was originally hyped about ODST, until I found out about the price tag. I was also semi-curious about the 2D modern metroid Shadow whatever. VandalvideoI wouldnt say i was supremely dissapointed by alan wake, but it was dissapointing... I think i had my expectations on something else, the demo made it look like a third person shooter based on using a combination of light and firepower... Definately not what i was expecting
I was not impressed with the Microsoft's motion sensor. While it was technically impressive, does not look all that appealing to play.
Thankfully, there was some great stuff to be had, with the likes of Halo 3 ODST, Alan Wake, and Shadow Complex, among others.
Very impressed with the tech demo at Lionhead with Milo. Imagined a whole world where characters recgonized and interacted with you on voice command? Imagine telling a villager to go **** yourself in a RPG and have him never talk to you again cause he was insulted? Also I thought Alan Wake and SC looked sick, and Rock Band Beatles is shaping up nicely.
