I may have a browse up on it as its been a while since i played a game which is story driven unless you count Tekken or maybe Zelda lol. the games are visual novels, which means 90% of the time you'll be reading text. when you aren't reading (or making dialogue choices), you're on a point & click adventure, similar to those "escape the room" games. just thought i'd tell you.
though i'd say even if you don't enjoy that kind of gameplay, it's worth it for the story alone.
EDIT: oh and BTW, if you decide to get into it, start from the beginning and play 999 first. it's 20-25 dollars in most places.
