Interesting to compare year over year sales:

2008 total sales

360 - 2.08 million

PS3 - 2.25 million

Wii - 5.17 million

360 has 4 of top ten, PS3 has one.

The numbers clearly show that the 360's strongest months are Nov and Dec.

All these cows bragging about the ps3 outselling 360 in NA this year should seriously look at the history and prepare to be owned.

hm... not sure about that. 160,000 units is alot of ground to make up, but there are some heavy hitters coming out so it will be interesting...

Not that much ground. Also there is the years 2005, 2006, and 2007. The PS3 can't outsell the 360 in NA if they only have around 150,000 over the 360 every year.

360 gets crushed by the Wii again and it's "well done, MS" lol.

So xbox 360 still hasn't caught up to the ps3 yet this year in 2008?

Wait until this year is over before declaring a winner for 2008. I mean, december ALONE could change the course of who sold how much, and thats still over 2 months away, we still have the rest of October and November to get through, which are both not displayed on this list. Also, September was mostly Xbox at the old price.

But last few years still matter. It not like the 360s, PS3s, and Wiis were all destroyed. The PS3 may sell more units in NA than the 360 does but it would not be that much, maybe less than 10,000. Also last december the 360 out sold the PS3 by 465,000. The one before that was by 609,000. So 160,000 units is not that much to make up.

It was enough humiliation for MS having Sony outsell the 360 for 6 months this year. we are well aware. our discussion revolved around the claim that the ps3 will outsell the 360 in North America for 2008

Ps2 is the "backwards compatibility accessory" for the PS3. Its $129, but at that price your PS3 is fully backwards compatible!

Good thing my 360 Elite is backwards compatible out of the box.

about 700 k in one month with no real big games out I think. Its been declared, Wii is the winner this gen and theres still Christmas. This thing is easily gonna sell over a mil in a month come the hoildays.
