it sucks for me... a minute after i install the new update, i got the 3 red lights... turned off, back on, it was ok, but when i try to play a game it freezes...

 im waiting for a solution... i bought it back 2006, and it is not modded.
I like the new dash. Already installed Gears 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2. Noticed a little faster load time with each game but its nothing major. The nice thing is that the 360 stays quiet now and doesn't get as hot due to it not working as hard. At least that is what I observed. Its not hard to navigate through the menus on the NXE too.
Great stuff here. I love it. Heck I even like my little avatar thing (for the record, I liked creating Miis too :P). The install feature is great and the eight player party system is just plain awesome. So far, so great. :D

I personally, and I've read others experiencing this, get severe slow down when viewing the friends-list. I've had to go and turn off the console by hand a few times.
And, the MarketPlace is totally on and off for me. Sometimes it works, and others it doesn't.
I only had one problem with Netflix this morning, but that was over quick.
I mainly want the freezing when viewing the friends-list to be fixed. Really annoying.
How do you delete the 0 gs acheivements.too_much_eslim
Push the guide button, then go to your achievements page. The ones with 0gs will have an option to press "X" on them.
My opinion on the update is: i did not like it at first, but after a while I started to not just "like" it, but love it! much easier to navigate and the friends list is very sweet looking now with the avatars. My friends did a good job at making themselfs look the same as they do irl.The whole NXE is a great improvement.
I would like more options as far as creating my avatar, Perhaps start having games with unlockable t shirts. Otherwise working without a hitch so far. Couple that with getting the awesomee Left 4 Dead and it's been a good day...
Well sooon as I turned on my 360 to get the update, my hdd crashed and i lost everything. My brother swapped it out and put his hdd in and it works fine on his. From what I seen on his, it looks very awesome. Now, to save up for a new hdd i guess.
It's ok so far. I've noticed the marketplace is responding a bit slow, but I expect that to be temperary. I've had a few freezes, but nothing major. And I think the friends list was better as a list where I could see most of my friends and their status all at once (however, if there are more status and game specific mini-environments for the avatars, I think that would be cool). It's nice to be getting more use of my Elite's hard drive and I was quite impressed with the Netflix streams I watched.
Has anyone else been getting freezing issues. 4 times the new dashboard has stalled on me, my 360 is a new replacement in November when my old one RRoD. I never had this issue with the old dashboard. :?

Yeah, It's happened to me a few times. Once when I was trying to get the code to link my Netflix account and a few more times when I had selected one of my friends and was trying to back out to the dashboard ( it's also worked fine several times as well ).

Just installed GTA4 and while there's only a slight load time improvment the Pop-up issue is seriously curved! Took a 900 at top speed around and could see all objects about 3-5 seconds away!
I find it kinda messy...not really as userfriendly as it used to be.
and you can controll almost everything with the guide button. what's up with that? makes the whole dash kinda...not needed at all.
looks very slick though. Party system is all I really care about just as I thought I would, and it works perfect.
But I wouldn't mind if this new update came only with that party system. That shiny stuff and avatars feel unnessesary tbh. But again, it looks great though

I downloaded Netflix on my US account. (EU accounts don't support this). I have yet to try out the free trial that comes with it. I can't subscribe to it....again...I'm european...way to go MS:roll:
oh well, I'm not really a fan of renting movies anyway. And I prefer hard copies:P

I know that, I doubt that I'll be able to DL anything on Netflix btw since almost everything is region locked, but US gets all the extras while Europe and other regions get nothing. As if we're not important enough or something.
One more thing, I checked my silver account yesterday and there was this button that said "the advantages of XBL Gold". So I clicked it and was surprised to see the Party system among the things listed for gold members.
So what's the deal? Silver members can't use the party system and just chat with others?:?
can anyone confirm this? I forgot to try it out myself.

Not being able to use netflix in Europe has nothing to do with Microsoft.
i think silvers can join a party but not start one. might be wrong though.

Just something I noticed yesterday. Sure hope that isn't true for all the silver member out there..XBL silver is allready limited as it is. It would certaintly feel like a stab in the back if I was a silver user.
Out of interest why would a silver want to be in a party? You can't play with people anyway, I guess you could chat to people whilst your playing seperate games but isn't that what a phone is for?

I have close friends all over the world and it gets pricy to catch up with them..... My long distance phone bill was 100's per month...8 way private chat is a HUGE upgrade for me..
