Xbox 360.
Well?

The most powerful console on planet earth, Mighty X1X 4K BC MonsterBox MasterRace, when only the best will do. :P
Xbox was great because it had Ninja Gaiden. Oh yeah and you could soft mod it to install 3rd party stuff, so yeah it was dope.
Xbox 360.... Never had one, but I had several friends who did. Still don't remember any good games....
X1X can play Ninga Gaiden Black so it's automatically the best console.
Xbox One. It has the best controller, has a growing library of backwards compatible games from the previous systems, has the best user interface, has numerous apps that can be used on it, and is naturally more powerful.
You can make this really easy...
if you believe either Xbox 360 or One were the best xbox consoles... try and create a top 15 best games list for the systems to that prove that.
Anyone who even attempts to tackle that task will quickly realize that their fond memories for 360 are grossly over exaggerated and trying to use original xbox and 360 games to prop the one up for it producing no great current gen games is a fail.
I have my Original Xbox games on lock to knock anyone in the head who really believes either one of them should be considered the best xbox console...test it!

You're trying really hard today, Is it a slow day for you as well?
Xbox 360 was legit back when it was released.
This! I really enjoy MS Xbox 360 back in the days.
I also owned Xbox just to play Halo: Combat Evolve and Halo 2 in general. But I will say that Xbox was the coolest console on the block and this was before I got into PC gaming. But however, Xbox 360 is right where it's at for it's time. I'll go with Xbox 360, great controller and cool games to go with it and most importantly, it was BC for Xbox games.
Sadly however, Xbox One itself isn't the worst MS console, just very disappointing.
Out of the 3 I guess I would say the xbox 360, but I was never in the xbox camp in general. I was always Sony Nintendo.
@boycie: Haven't you noticed that he posts like crazy for about 24hrs and the dissapears for weeks?
I'm Betting he saves up his privileges for weeks at the asylum and is allowed 1 day on the net per fortnight lol.

Lmao!
Anyway... this is a hard one to answer. In terms of sheer number of hours I've spent on each system, XB1 takes the cake (XB1, S & X).
But then I'm very nostalgic for the OG Xbox, and is probably the console I have the fondest memories of (hence why I often say it's my fav console of all time, along with Gamecube). 360 was a great console too with amazing games, but the RRoD fiasco really hurt my love for it.
360 had the bigger impact on me but the Xbox one s is a very well made system sad about the exclusives at this point.
360. Too bad the hardware was dogshit. I had to send it back for repairs twice. Only console I ever had to do that with.
@sukraj:
Yeah man, it's really a no brainer considering the X1X Free 4K BC for many of the best OG Xbox and 360 games.
X1X, the all in One wonder machine. lol :D
It used to be the Xbox 360. The dashboard blades UI certainly was the best and it's aesthetics like flaceplate swapping were nice too.
But the Xbox one X with it's sleeker design, noiseless under load, arguebly having the best controller design for console gaming, the power under the hood(330gb/s bandwith with 12gb GDDR5 ram come on) , it's BC enhancing all games (atleast with 16xaf and less fps drops), game pass is a huge welcome and the Xbox one X enhanced games look simply amazing and near very close to PC's ultra settings with a bit less shadow detail and object draw distance. Masterchief Collection f.e., my favorite series, is running at 4K 60fps; that's more than 16x times the resolution and twice the framerate it ran on the xbox 360.
Xbox one X is a way to go out with a bang for MS, but it might be my last Xbox for the forseeable future. Playstation's traditional approach to gaming with more quality exclusives available looks more interesting to me. Xbox's original IP's have degraded in quality over time. They are still very good games but the revisions are becoming stale. Multiplats will always be better on the X1X, but a PS5 looks like a better addition to my Xbox one X than a Xbox Scarlett would be, looking at this generation's timeline.
Xbox is far from dead, but owning an Xbox one X for all my legacy games (and next gen Xbox IP's will run on it says MS) that I will keep on loving and a PS5 for all the new exclusives and next gen games seems like the way to go. I hope PS5 goes BC since then I can play all the PS4 games at higher resolutions. I do wish they'd upgrade that dualshock controller though, the Xbox One's is vastly superior for my hands.
@jahnee:
All good but just one thing. MS is thus far the only console maker who has already announced they have multiple new Xboxes being developed as we speak so X1X is not them going out with a bang. :P
@SecretPolice: Thing is, they need to seriously revamp their first party line up, especially the single player front. Xbox is without a hindsight of doubt the best multiplayer console, but the Xbox is looking more and more like a prepackaged pc. Which by itself is not a bad thing, but Xbox is losing it's identity because of lack of original new single player IP's.
@jahnee: Understood and agree and so does MS with Phil heading Xbox. They recently acquired 5 new studios to fix the first party problem with Ninja Theory being one dev specializing in SP story driven games.
I'm betting they come out Guns blazing firing on all cylinders at the very start of next gen or if they don't call it next gen, their next Xbox. We'll see but all seems to be going a much better direction than the start of this gen for MS and thank goodness because that was horrid. lol
@SecretPolice: I respect and appreciate all those initiatives, but even third party exclusives are rich on Playstation right now. I also don't like the way Microsoft handled a lot of their first party IP's over the years. PC has all the Xbox console exclusives as well. So the Xbox has now become a prepackaged service box that is like a pc. Owning an Xbox is like having many game services and subscriptions available for choosing, and it's a 'bang for your buck' prebuild pc but more oriented for gaming; not a console with much identity on it's own. And that's something I doubt that will change. Playstation's seperated experience is what makes it stand out more on it's own.
Microsoft's "The more options, the better" approach works to a certain degree but pure Xbox exclusives is what will give the console identity, and consoles do have to rely on generational leaps since technology moves at a fast pace. Ryzen CPU's shred the Jaguar CPU in the Xbox one X, we are talking about 3/4x times the performance. GPU's are more easily scalable than CPU's. This means the Xbox one X should not be supported next gen but if it does,then expect the gap between Playstation 5 and Xbox Scarlet first party games to be even bigger quality wise. Unless Microsoft can pull cloud cpu acceleration on old Xbox one's, but I have the feeling it's simply too early for such a technology to be implented. People's internet speeds on average are still not that great.
In turn, I believe Xbox will have trouble regaining the same fanbase it lost from the Xbox 360 era. The many services, non generational leaps, non true exclusivity and an already lower support of developers makes it very hard to be appealing to newcomers. Their initiatives are now good, but I don't think they have enough backbone to proceed with the risks they are taking. But this is all just speculation. They might just end up surprising us.
