1/5. Is it bad that was actually hoping that this would fail? Should've kept Brutal Legend and canned this, as I'm sure even Brutal Legend will end up performing better with its somewhat low #'s.

No, it's not bad. If it teaches Activision to reassess it's "milk every franchise dry until they are hated and irrelevant" business model, then it's very good. I can already tell COD/MW is going to be one of these franchises that gets ruined by constant milkage. Don't even get me started on the music games, it has turned me off of the whole genre. This game failing could actually turn out to be bad for gaming.
This isn't a sequel or a rehash, it's a new concept and a reboot of the TH franchise. This game failing could potentially mean even less risk taking from Activision and more yearly rehashes. They actually tried to do something new and it failed badly. Yes it's based on a gimmick and is basically crap but it was something new.
That's a good point. I mainly meant that perhaps Activision will rethink their strategy of overcharging for gimmicky peripherals.
If it results in them sticking even more to what they know, then it's bad, but honestly I don't have any faith left in Activision anyway. MW2 is the only game I have bought since the Blizzard merger, and will probably be the last for a while. In fact, if MW continues down this path I probably won't buy the next one either.
At least Borderlands is selling! An original IP, a new concept, from a relatively small developer, and it's kicking ass everywhere. The review scores don't even reflect how much people love the game, and rightly so. Sorry to change the topic, but I wanted to shout out Borderlands for being an exception to the rule.
