[QUOTE="astiop"]Christ sake, this is just stupid. 16 year olds cant play games because you can see boobs in them? Pathetic. Glad thats not the case in Europe. I would go nuts if my parents were like that.
xDonRobx
But isn't violence a major issue in Europe? Atleast thats what I heard.
In America, a boob is like the apple that God told Adam not to eat. But anyone can go watch Saw III (sure it says 17 and older only, but i've seen plenty of kids just walk in)
I'm sure kids will still be able to buy Mass Effect on there own, I remember buying M rated games when I was 13-14, only place that gave me problems was GameStop.
Violence isn't as major in europe as nudity is to the us. In mass effect there is violece, yet it's still rated 12 in the UK. Sure, it's not as "ok" as it is in the us, but it's not really "major" either.
[QUOTE="kingyotoX"][QUOTE="lawlessx"]man that sucks. do your parents watch you while you play your video games or something?lawlessx
no but they would not let me get it if they saw the rating on the back although I did manage to get oblvion my dad is much more lax than my mom.
moms these days need to stop watching the news and actually start paying attention to their kids..no kid goes from a sweet loving child to a crazy insane punk after playing a damm video game.
It's true I know a lot more about the world than my mom thinks.
[QUOTE="kingyotoX"]The one game that had me really psyched for the 360 was mass effect well now I com to find it's going to be M and have sex in it my parents will never let me get it. why do devs feel the need to put crap in games just to get it an M rating as if putting bisexual sex scenes contributes to the story. i'm sure i'll get flamed by people who are obsessed with seeing alien nakedness but watever. TBoogy
If it is rated M, and you are a kid, you aren't supposed to play it anyway. Why have a M rating, and not use it to push the envelope for those of us who paid our dues gaming for 30 years and want something edgier in their games?
you just don't understand typical adult.
[QUOTE="kingyotoX"][QUOTE="club-sandwich"][QUOTE="kingyotoX"][QUOTE="club-sandwich"]you obviously are not old enough to play this game, deal with it, I'll enjoy this masterpiece, while you play wii, you know, since Nintendo cares about the kids. And adding sex to a game to contribute to the story ain't wrong if it's well implemented, and sex is part of life, your parents should understand that.club-sandwich
well its not fair
my parents are wak
i might have a heart attack
this is lame and it sux
I want mass effect for 60 bucks
well I feel sorry for you that you'll have to wait for this awesome game, my mom used to be like that but I'm 17 so she's screwed sinc I'm able to play M games, besides, Can go to the store with my car and buy games and she won't notice, so I don't have any problems. you should get the game and hide it from your parents IMO.I would but I can't buy it cuz i'm not 17 trust me I tryed to to get re4 for wii and the lady at gamestop wouldn't let me.
lol well that suxxors for you :Pyour not kidding oh well in ten months i'll get it..
[QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"][QUOTE="niisan"]Wow, so in the US a M rating is 17+? Never knew that.

Its pretty bad. My country (the US) censors sex and nudity more than any other country Im aware of...
Just seems strange since here we have G, PG & M which are advisory only, while MA is for 15+.
Games like Gears of War and Halo are only 15+.
wow your lucky wherever you live.

well a typical adult and teenager (im assuming since ur suppose to be over 13 to post here) relationship usually involves the teen getting it after persuading and just buying it without their consent or lying saying its just like an rpg
The sex will be avoidable (like that is going to happen). At least that is what there track record would imply. Your choices in game will determine the path you take, including I am sure, wether or not you have a romantic relationship in the game.
Don't worry about it. I think Bioware is simply writing the game for adults. Adults have sex. The game is MA for a reason.
it's a less than 20 second clip that only comes from the fact that u canchoose ur players gender. y were u gonna play as a woman anyways???? ;) ;) say no more there, u little deviant, u.
seriously, don't play as a woman and the situation never arises. you're welcome.

From the new skin tight suit that seems to show off his undeniably absurd posterior. come on, seriously? he's supposedly an older man but somehow i think u guys spent 50% of the model's polys on making his backside look as smooth and firm as possible. i don't even like to watch the gameplay vids for mgs4 (not that i'm homophobic or anything, but the gamehas crossed that line).
so blood, gore, violence, guns, cursing is ok with you parents but the second there is a nipple...OMG YOU CANT PLAY THIS!!!!
that dosent makes sense but uh on the bright side...nice choice

You need to do some homework. You do know that you can be executed in some countries for possessing porn right?
I guess technically you are right, those other countries don't censor it, they ban it all together. In the US you can at least make your own choice about it when you hit 18.
Did you somehow miss the portion where I said "Im aware of"?? :shock:QFT. Why are there so many gameplay clips of him straddling enemies??? Order it online, show em a photoshopped pic of the box without the sexual content label, problem solved.

Yeah and if they ever see the label just make up some excuse like, "ESRB put sexual content cause they use the F word and they thought that that counted as sexual" or some crap like that most likley theyll believe you.

Just use your knowledge of video games and their lack of knowledge on video games to give you the upper hand.

...No offense intended at all, but I think your parents are the imbodiment of one of the biggest flaws of this country; an irrational fear of sex and desire to prevent it from ever reaching the minds of the young. I mean, sure, seeing guys haul their own severed arm around on a beach and getting blown to bits by a sticky bomb is fine. But God FORBID they should see nudity! Once again, no offense intended.

You said that alot better than I did lol.Giving the player the ability to watch their female avatar have sex with a bisexual blue chick will probably make this game sell a few extra copies. I predict a small-scale kleenex shortage during the week after this game's release.
Still, the game doesn't seem like there's much in terms of violence, so it strikes me odd that they'd let the game get rated M just for a sex scene instead of scaling it back and getting a T rating. Either that, or they should have capitalized on their M rating and thrown in a bunch of gore!

your preachin to the quire.
Puttingsex/nudity in a game is really really stupid and uncalled for. What kind of sick perverted developers would sit there and animate/model that garbage for mainly younger americans....I don't watch movies with it and I will not play games with it. I honestly think the ESRB rating system will not allow it though with only an M ratingb/c they'll rate it AO and MS and Sony don't allow those games on their systems.Toyeboy
hmmm.... you make a interesting point.... but I don't think it will be AO there is worse in GOW and it's M
