Just finished Heavenly Sword...and that game was definitely GOTY quality.
Due to everyones original opinion - I have deleted my post to allow me to actually say GAMESPOT AND IGN HAVE MADE A MISTAKE RATING THIS GAME!
Here we go. I have put a review up.
Grading .5 and -.5 increments for minor issues. For major, 1 increments have been allocated, as well as a very unbiased review system.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rating of this game accoring to gamespots OLD(and much more realistic) review guidelines would go like this.
Gameplay- Button Mashing can be done almost all of the game except for the last two bosses. (-1. ---happy?) However, very rewarding once you learn the combos of the game. Range, Short, Special, and Power stances all allow for elaborate combos (+.5) Fixed camera was annoying also (-.5)
9.
Graphics----*** Aside from some beginning FMV sound-gfx syncing issues(-.5), the CGI as well as the FMV was astounding to look at. Hundreds and even thousands of enemies on the screen at one point.
9.5
Sound- Music fit! Intense! Voice acting superb. Aside from the syncing issues at the beginning(-.5), intensity is the right word. (9.5)
9.5
Value- Here is where HS suffers the most. Everyones claim would be that the game is hilariously short, which I do see the point! In fact, one sitting is indeed the truth.(-4) However, combo and trick learning skills bring the game up. (+1)
7
---*below ---83.125
Tilt- My personal tilt, due to the elements of the game I loved..Production, Sick combos, and Graphics all made me jump! Kai's part in the story at one point is scary. ---those who play know! I loved the switch and variation allowed by the sixaxis as well the boss battles, which were indeed unique.Gameplay aids the story. (10) However, the game can be beaten in one sitting (-1)so, it trumps most and ends up being along the lines of Caviar or high class cooking, which allows excellence in moderation.

How to read overall.
4 Elements averaged. X95 percent
Tilt-5 percent (which should deviatesuch bias)
83.125 + 4.5 (ABS Round Up equal 84 + 5, or 83 + 4 ~~ 89 versus 87)
87.625--- This is the score...with as many biases taken out.
Now here would be a realistic average. I have taken out as many biases as possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is where I get technical. So go to sleep or avoid if you dont want to stimulate your brain. *taken from post further on*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Determining games with as much objectivity rather than subjectivity assigns the reader the right to their own personal opinion. Thus, that is where cognitive dissonance more or less occurs. However, by eliminating as much biases as possible, looking from a sociological perspective (which yields that one cannot truly eliminate all biases), we do our best to rate games with compromisation while adding an uncompromising element to satisfy ones natural bias. Thus, you rate this game on a + or - of its indeed raw score or reviewer score.
Overall Score at GR shows how many uncompromised reviews were indeed made. IGN and GS the big names here who have based the game more of less on RV. So heres the level of CD that I am facing.
87.625 versus 80 at GS 80, 81 at GR (for overall level)
The level of CG would be equated I believe as a 7.625 x 10 = 76 percent versus 6.625x 10= 66 percent-----wtf wtf
There you go.
Anything notably over 60 percent overall in CD IS WORTH YOUR POST!
