HD-DVD players are now out selling Blu-Ray players. This war is far from over.

-DarthVader-

These figures don't include PS3's which would probably give blu-ray the lead still.

Movie studios want standalone players to determine the format war not a gaming console, when the Ps3 finally gets games worth playing will gamers still buy 30 dollar videos?

No they don't. Stop making up lies.

And most Blu-Ray movies are at the $25 mark.

Get a clue.

Right cuz you know all:roll:

plus here in canada blu-ray movies are 30 dollars with tax.....:|

thats nice. but in reality Bluray movies are usually cheaper than HDDVD movies. And right now bluray supporters like bestbuy have a buy 1 get 1 free deal. And frys have bluray movies on sale for $10.

So show me a link, a statement, something showing that movie studios want standalone players to determine the format war and not actual software sales.

You'll be looking all night and day, because there is no such thing.

I would think a poster with as many posts as you have would have a clue. Apparently not.

You know nothing.

 First Sentence.

TDK is the only recordable media company to be a founding member of the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA).X360PS3AMD05

and yet when the Toshiba PR spokesperson talks it must be true(like in the kotaku article).

Big suprise..NOT

I remeber last year when lems said Blu-Ray will be the next BETAMAX LMA:lol: Self Owned

Liquid-GEAR

DVD sales are still outselling both formats.....

lol Is that something to hide behind? Is it Blu-Ray VS DVD? It was a competition between two new HD formats that will EVENTUALLY replace DVD. Blu-Ray is the winner.

Hopefully that will not hapen for another 5-10 years when the results justify the price

yep not to mention the PC media storage side of things will also decide the next format. With Adobe and Apple saying they will support bluray. You basically have the entire creative industry on the bluray side.

Probably because neither of the HD formats have established solid footing yet. Thats why there's a "format war" and a lot of big names are claiming Blu Ray as winner, such as Cnet, MSNBC, and that link this guy posted

Apparently no one reads anymore, because i never said studio's care more about hardware rather then software.... Studios want standalone players to sell and aren't resting on the ps3 to carry the next gen format. Because they know PS3 owners won't be spending money on Movies if there are games to buy.

You know nothing.

if thats so then why are Bluray movies outselling HDDVD movies?

Japan it's Bluray 9:1

America Blu 2:1

UK its Blu 4:1

Europe its Blu 7:3

Australia its Blu 9:1

wow relax... i'll i was trying to get at was studio's aren't resting on the ps3 sales numbers to move blu-ray because once games start coming majority of gamers won't buy movies.

Having a heart attack about someones opinion is pretty sad.

Ok if you are going to make a thread about Blu-Ray winning please use a better source then TDK saying it will win. If you missed the first paragraph of your link maybe you should read it again. TDK is the only disc manufacturer that is a founding member of BDA. That lends about as much credibility as quoting Sony.

Um, those are numbers from Toshiba and don't take into account PS3 sales.

Plus those are hardware players. Software sales are led by Blu-Ray right now.
