Ok i have been playing MW2 non stop since i picked it up at the midnight launch and as we all know MW2 doesnt allow party chat, so gamers are now all open micsduring the game and WOW, the 360 community has gotten much more loud, immature, and annoying in the last year since the 360 has gotten party chat. I think every single matchI have played so far have been age 16 and under and it gets extremely annoying!

I love using my mic during online games but its just terrible and i have to turn it off because i will literally get a headache.. Put it this way, its equal to being on a school bus on a friday afternoon with a lot of middle schoolers.. I thought the Halo 3 community was bad, MW2 players make Halo 3 players seem like einstein. Anyway the 360 BADLY needs a age filter for online games, im not sure how it would work but i think it should be in age ranges.. for example you can have options to play with gamers between ages 12-15, then 16-19then have a 21 and up option. That would make it so much better.

And besides, im 25 and its really wierd and awkward playing with abunch of pre teens. I think people my age that have been playing MW2 on xbox live can agree with me on this one.

I've encountered the same immature behavior on PSN as well. Why single out XBL? Both communities have annoying users...

Whenever you have have a massive online community, you are bound to get some oboxious people. It is ineviditable. You might as well get used to it if you haven't already.

And another thing.. Why does everyone feel the need to answer a questions with a smart a&& sarcastic remark on Xbox live.. For example i asked in the lobby how to unlock the heartbeat sensor and it was always someone replying with a smart sarcastic remark that had nothing to do with my question.. I like the PSN community overall better but i like the 360 controller much better for FPS.. other than that i would switch to PS3 for MW2

Exactly! i love using a mic and talking during online games so its not like i just want to mute everyone, a age filter would be perfect. Give you an option to matchmake you with people in the age range you choose. the Xbox live community is big enough where you would still be able to find plenty of matches even with a age filter

I feel the same way about PSN. There's only so much racist, foul mouthed banter I can take from 14 year olds before the earpiece HAS to come off. This is why I play less online than I used to, and when I do, the mic rarely stays on for long.

Every single FPS game probably has annoying people in it.

From Counter Strike to Left 4 Dead to MW2, ect.

They're everywhere.

For me it's not just the little kids I find extremely annoying, but it's the 30+ year olds who love to curse frequently when they die, constantly exclaim that people are cheating or got lucky every time they get killed, and call people the worst names in the human language just for the hell of it. *shudders* At least I can mute them

Back to the annoying kids tho, if parents are going to allow their children to play this game, they should at least have the common courtesy for the rest of us to not allow them access to a mic!!!

That'd be a cool feature. I don't have an issue with playing with kids (that really sounds bad:P ), but they seem to think the insults/trash talk is so original and funny. It just seems like a lot of them are simply trying to impress other people, which is quite sad when you think about it.

It's just annoying on the more popular games, which have awful communities. COD, Halo, and other popular online games will always have that, sadly. Just stay in party chat or just have a group with your friends online.

There is one, it's called parental controls. Unfortunately many don't use it.

Agreed. Funny that the same people that complain about online idiots are usually apart of system wars battles and members of anonymous, which are also pretty idiotic.

KamikazeDonut

True. In fact I'd bet 1/3 of the people I've put on my FL for FPS games are under 18. What amazes me is the lack of oversight parents have on their children. Not only are they buying adult games for their teenagers, but they apparently have zero idea on what their children are acting like online. It's really sad.

People on SW probably know how against Live fees I am. But I'd gladly pay for online access that eliminated kiddies from mature rated games. Hell, I'd pay double. This is the very issue that has keeps me from following my friends into MW2 or any other shooter.

What about all the older annoying guys? Who also talk crap and bag on little kids, cause they're prepubescent, like no crap jack ass.

Hell I'm 15 and I never talk crap nor do I make annoying sounds. Also, my voice is not squeaky, as far as I know.

LOL as the other guy said, that's probably what SW is if it didn't have text only. Anyways, an age filter would not work cause people could just lie about their age and then continue playing. Also, the same thing happens in the PSN so why try to single out XBL?

lol. It also takes guts to speak extremely irrationally about your unsupported opinions some of the time, thats how some people get to stand out so well. ;)

But yeah I could agree, SW is filled with a variety of interesting people.

On topic, I've always been interested to see how is it exactly like to be playing an online fps on xbl.

I think that this will continue to grow and become such a problem that a mass of people will stop online FPS gaming. The only thing worse than racist 12 year old (I use 12 because they think they're so cool. They're almost "mature" teenagers now) cursing in your headset is a voice-masked (especially with how easy it is to voice-mask on the PS3) racist, 12 year old cursing in your headset.

I don't know why people say PSN is as bad as XBL. I've had a lot of play time on both and PSN is far better. I've never heard any trash talking only people playing music down the mic (I wouldn't mind if they played some metal but it is always 50 cent). Of course it could just be that everyone on XBL has a mic whereas on PSN 32 player KZ2 matches only 1-3 people have mics.

Nice. Gotta throw in a kicker every so often to keep everyone awake.

My real question is, who's the idiot who bought the kid the game in the first place? I swear, if your kid has a whiney voice, take their headset, and snap it in two right in front of them, and tell them you can get another one ten years from now when your voice isn't so annoying.

I know, people in SW sometimes forget why they are here :P. Anyways pre-teens should be banned from online video games and movie theaters.

[QUOTE="RedruM_I"]What do you expect? The Xbox360 community is largely made of annoying preteens who couldn't afford a real console (PS3) :)RedruM_I

Had some kids making farting noises behind me while watching Transformers 2. And now with every child above 7 owning a cell phone, it gets even worse. "I CAN'T TALK RIGHT NOW! I'M IN A THEATRE!!!"

oh yeah? actually the Xbox 360 community is largely made up of people wanting a great gaming experience with a sense of online community who didn't need a console playing catch up online, overpriced and mainly used to watch Blu-ray movies ;)

No. When I was a pre-teen I knew not to curse and make obscene remarks about other people. I say we have an intelligence test. That would weed out people who lie about their age and also people who are above 18+ but act like a pile of crap (well at least some).
