On the Topic of Piracy, why so biased against PC

Every time a list of the most pirated games of the year come up, PC is always on top, everytime news pops up about video game piracy its always blaming the PC

Now how does a torrent download = a pirated copy, it doesnt at all, did they have a modded xbox? can their PC even run it? see my point.

anyway, these yearly list of most pirated games never show the PSP and DS to make the PC look worse

ask any console based site what the most pirated game of all time is, they will say MW2 on PC or Spore, DEAD WRONG

the most pirated games of all time are PSP and DS games (i have plenty of Source if you disagree)

lets look at this silly list

Top Pirated PC games on Bit Torrent for 2010

1) Call of Duty: Black Ops (4,270,000) - you cant play Black ops online with a pirated copy on PC, but you can on Xbox 360

2) Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (3,960,000) - you cant play BC2 online with a pirated copy on PC, but you can on Xbox 360 (also BC2 sold best on PC)

3) Mafia 2 (3,240,000) - damn shame, i have no counter for this

4) Mass Effect 2 (3,240,000) - no wonder bioware dont make PC games anymore, Single player games are dead on PC, ill give you that, but too be fair SP games are also dying on consoles

5) Starcraft II (3,120,000)- Blizzard stated this was dead wrong, over 2million of these torrent downloads was from blizzards official torrent

yet again on this list i see no PSP/DS and no PS3

It's ****ing easy,though.

piracy is awful on pc far more then on consoles . Its much more easy and safe to steal games on the pc . You could brick your console so its harder .

maybe because ms or sony or nintendo don't want their platform to look like a haven for pirates.

even if there are numbers for console piracy, why would someone report on them? the culture is too ingrained

even after blizzard stated SC2's piracy was tiny, this stupid bitorrent site still shows the 3million number of "OFFICIAL" downloads and passes them off as pirated copies

What do you mean Bioware doesn't make PC games anymore? Last time I checked every game they made is available on PC and plays better on PC (Yes, Mass Effect and Dragon Age are much better on PC (especially dragon age), and they are making a PC exclusive MMO right now..

SWTOR will go to consoles if it does poorly on PC, its been desgined for consoles in mind, you can tell if youve played the beta, but im not going into that

also Dragonage was made on PC first, great game, but the others are console ports, i meant to say PC exclusives or PC centric

that's the whole point of the path of least resistance. it's not a technicality. i'm all for PC but not admitting that is insane

It only really matters for Single Player games like ME2...why you would ever pirate a multiplayer game is beyond me :)maybe just to try it out?

not sure if your trolling, everyone knows this, Sony gained a huge market share with PS1/PS2 because of Piracy, the highest selling game of all time on PS2 sold 17million copies, while the PS2 had 120million units sold, the Xbox had 25million units sold and the highest selling game on Xbox was 8million (Halo 2) same for the Gamecube, SSBM sold 8million copies

With that being said. I am sure Console piracy is on the arise but they don't want to admit it. But anyways I don't think it was just piracy that killed the PC exclusive. What really did is the simple fact people are technically challenged when it comes to PC's. I think that's what killed the PC exclusives. People don't know about PC components yet alone the word "component" is too much for them lol. If they can't even recognize whats inside their store bought branded PC. What makes you think they can build a kick ass PC?

depends, if its a low end game and its a good game with good multiplayer, aka blizzard, prepare to be the most succesful dev of all time, or if its a high end game with boring gameplay and dead multiplayer, well... ya know

See that is exactly what I am saying the game runs only because its not demanding on the system so the end user is going to be "oh this is the best game I ever played". If this game was not low end I can bet you the user will be frustrated and want his/her money back and not bother to investigate to why the game is not runnig or is running slow.

Didn't i read that the NPD does not include online sales accurately? More plays means obviously people are playing that game mostly. Whether its ranking system or sales the fact is there are lot of players.

the only problem with Proof is you won't get any as they are not being reported the closets thing would be steam. Also because PC gaming has 0 marketing campaign unlike consoles which won't help one bit. Fact of the matter is consoles is the publisher's marketing dream. If a 1M copies of this game was to be sold on PC it be like whatever.

If that same amount was sold on consoles however you be hearing it like the apple get a mac comercials lol.

I mean who knows it could be true but then again we won't know as no one cares to report. Not reporting is just as bad of not many copies being sold regardless if that game did made a sale or not.
